I get off work at 4:30... I'm pretty free since I'm living like a bachelor for the next few weeks. You can stop by anytime after then!

Come on over! I think I'll be building a computer and maybe mopping the floor in the theater for some leveler.

I started installing the floor in the closet today, but ran out of planks... Between destroying a few planks and under-estimating the job, I have to go pick up some more material.

I first used some self-leveling compound which I appeared to have missed a spot or two I then laid down the Superseal floor followed by some dense foam material before the laminat floor. I really love the way this stuff looks, however, I may be pulling it out to re-level the floor. The two spots just irritate the crap out of me when I step on them.

Sure thing, stop on by! I'll be removing the floor I put in last night to do a better job at leveling. I hope I don't have to do any grinding....

I should be home after 6:30, as I have to stop at NFM after work.

Quick update... I pulled the floor out yesterday and used a 50lbs bag of leveler and it's looking much better. There are a few small dips now where the leveler didn't completely mesh with itself while drying. I will use some floor patch to smooth that out.

I will likely not have the floor ready before trim tomorrow, so I will have to have everything but the closet done. I want to make sure the floor under the wood/laminate is completely flat or I'll kick myself later.

I need to get some sand and plywood, but the stage is almost done! This is the last thing needed before carpet!

Thanks!

I went to get some sand today at Menards and all of it was completely soaked like it had been stored outside. I am going to try Lowes and Home Depot tomorrow and see what I come up with. I may have to lay it out on some plastic in the basement with the dehumidifier on for a day or so....

On a side note... I am going to pull up the laminate floor once again. There is a high spot I just can't live with right when you walk in and it will require I pull half the floor and grind it down. Everything else I did for leveling feels pretty good though.

Ha! Bumping a dead thread!

I gotta say THANKS to Scott (W00lly) for coming out with his saw/tools/truck and helping me finish up the stage. It's done and awaiting carpet. It's completely filled with sand and boy is it solid.

My camera ran out of a power after this shot, so this is what I have for now.

On a side note... To get the project done, I've pulled up the woold/laminate and will be installing carpet in the closet.

EDIT: Better Picture.

Wow, is it really that much brighter? I guess I could upgrade later, but I've got my old material (just like yours) that I haven't even used yet.

I'd like to come check it out sometime.

I am interested to see the results. I can see it being brighter due to the tighter weave not allowing as much light to pass through.

it's really interesting to discover the "american touch" (design) about personal home theater ; really different from what we can see in europe ;-)
