lol its kinda stupid but well in my floors in my basement when you look up you can see nice big GAPS and im talkin like oh 1/2 inch gaps between the floor boards. now i thought "well, gee oh man now alot of sound would escape between those gaps"...well sound does go through them well and let me tell you this idea is both time consuming and expensive...i took a can of great stuff (great stuff is a nice foam/insulator in a can) amd sprayed inbetween those cracks but lo and behold it would be WAY to time consuming and costly to do... so like i said back to the drawing board

I'll chime in arc,

The problem with flat paint is that it very easily becomes scuffed. Simply touching it produces a haze on the surface, their no wiping it or even looking at it the wrong way. To much reflection from a gloss or even a semi gloss. For the walls it might be best to go with an eggshell and perhaps do the trim in a satin.

I used flat black on the ceiling and the front wall and an egg-shell on the walls. You can scrub, the egg shell that is, if you need to.

Understanding the unexplainable"

Very nice progress with the drywall arc. I'd also caution the flat for the walls/trim since it scuffs very easily and is incredibly difficult to clean. I'd go with eggshell.
