Does anyone know of a good, comprehensive book for theater room construction? I'm looking for something that shows all about building subfloors, hanging walls and ceilings, running wires, soundproofing, etc. Don't need fancy pictures of million $ rooms, just simple how-to stuff. Any ideas?

the best book/resource you can find is called AVS Forum. Seriously, there is nothing that you can't find on here. The guys that write the books, review the gear and build these for a living all contribute here. It takes some time to find everything you want, but it's all here..... and if it isn't you just have to ask.

Quoted for truth.

Just read through several of the long build threads here and you'll learn quite a lot.

There is an e-book available from Warren Peterson (who also produces the Home Theater Revealed DVDs for AVS). I just got it last week and it has over 300 pages with lots of pictures and diagrams. I would highly recommend you take a look at it. It is available at: http://www.thehometheaterbook.com

I have read Warren's book. Its pretty good. Its kind of a survey of the greatest hits you'll see across the forum here. Frankly, reading this forum for a while will take longer but give you a better command of the subject. Of course best of all is to hire Dennis Erskine (or Terry Montlick or Bryan Pape or a few others) to really bring the expertise to bear.
