The search is neat though I don't use it much. I like the improved Stocks app too.

Other than that, it's pretty much business as usual.

yeap, I agree it crashes and seems alot slower. but lots of cool stuff to play around with. You basically covered it all
any new updates on your theater, which doesn't need...one sweet HT

I downloaded 3.0 and my phone actually is a lot faster. I like the email search feature and landscape for texts and emails the best so far.

Hey Manny,

Had you given any thought to doing a curved screen to deal with the pincushion? Just a thought.

Yes I have...I keep slapping myself to reminder me that I just purchased my current screen(which I like). I have to get use to the fact that with lens pincush effect is the norm. I'm still trying to min it though. Its not too bad but I know its there and pisses me off

Anyway hows your build?

Nice screens. I can see the pincushion on the top and the bottom. It helps to have a very dim light on in the room to be able to see where the image stops the white screen starts. I would zoom the projector out a little more and let the frame take care of the overspill.

Another thing I checked on your panny on projector calculator and it should have filled up the 140" screen at your 1.98 TR (~106x1.98 = 17.5ft). So if it didn't, somewhere in the calculations of your throw ratio could have had a mistake in it? Not saying anything bad about it, just saying it may account for the pinchusion since you weren't expecting it.

You're probably right at the TR, when I get home I have to rebuild the entire PJ shelf and see if can redesign it to be more effective. I love doing things hundred times....so those my wife

finally finished installing PJ and lens. Wow it took longer than I expected.
For some reason when I zoom the lens out the right & left sides(3") the imagine blurrs. I think I have to move my PJ further back which is going to be tough. LVL beams crosses the wide of the room behind the PJ.

Zoom the projector lens, or does the prismasonic zoom? Do you have the anamorphic lens as close as possible to the lens opening of the jvc?

If you really want the ultimate WOW factor go with the SIM2 C3x 3 chip 1080P. retails 32k but can be had for $21k

The prismasonic zooms imagine to fill the left & right sides only. I believe I have the lens as close as possible still being able to tilt it down. Want I'm afraid of is that I don't have enough TR.
When I set it up second time I read all instruction which aren't much. PJ perfectly centered pop in a 2.40 aspect film then I went into the D2v and vertical stretch imagine-perfect. So when I now zoom the Lens out I get blurred imagine and a shadow like effect on the left & right sides of the screen. about 3-4 inches....

I hate to say it without knowing what the problem is, but you might want to try the panamorph lens instead. (I'm sure Jason would exchange it for you). It just sits in front of the projector, no zooming, no settings on it etc. And it works with shorter throw ratios.

The only negative if you want to call it that is the fact that you either need a slide for it for when you want to watch 16:9 or leave it in place and squeeze your 16:9 back to 16:9.

Yeap your probably right, I'll ask Jason if this is possible. I have to find the box... I'm going to see if there is anything else I can do. besides redoing my room
I'll check the panamorph website.
Your htpc is looking great!

Oh...Thanks

over the weekend tried to make the AVS lens work but no success
I talked to Jason this morning explained what was going on. I mentioned about installing a UH480 (recomm. by Shawn). So I'm not swapping out the AVS to the UH480....Hopefully it will correct my issue

Manny.. What did you determine was the cause of the "Blurred" "Shadowed sides" ... Does the lens sit too far back in the RS20 for the Prisomsonic?

Hey Brad, my situation was that I didn't have the TR for that setup. I switched lens to a Panamorph UH480 which works perfect. I tested the lens with KF Panda very happy with the results
Now I have to figure how to adjust the lens to zoom in a little. Picture way to big horizonalty for my screen....Maybe I should get a bigger screen

Manny - use the Anthem to do the vertical stretch and then zoom the projector in more. It sounds like you dont have the vertical stretch matched up to the distortion the lens creates. So go into the video adjust menu > crop menu and lower the number of vertical pixels until it fills up your screen vertically. The benefit of doing this versus the JVC's stretch is that it's fully adjustable, pixel by pixel.

Yes, I have followed your previous tips on to use the D2v for vertical stretch. Before I setup the lens in front of PJ, I stretched the imagine(2.40) to fit perfect in the center of the screen. In the setup menu of the D2v the setting in vertical is 810 - which is perfect in height to my screen.
Now I move the UH480 in front of the PJ, the height remains the same as it should be but the imagine is over zoomed pass the right & left of the screen. I tried to zoom less the RS20 but then the height is to short. I went back to the D2v to further increase height. but below 810 the size doesn't change.
I don't know if this makes sense....

Don't you have a 2:35 screen?

You have to use a 2:35 movie to get the vertical stretch setup. Unfortunately 2:40 movies will result in spill over. Try a 2:35 and see if you have spill over still. If you decide to get the Sim2 () you can crop the side spill over off
