Can he just watch the clips when the disk is done? That would expedite the process!?!

All kidding aside, thanks to all involved for the effort.

If the former, that's the same image that will probably end up on the disc menu. If the latter, I'm not sure if a picture of the Earth is right for the disc as a whole.

I was talking about the front cover. I just think something like this would look good as a cover. Maybe with some editing and some lighting effects....

Great job by the way...

How do I get back into the mix here? I got a few Demo Disc when this thread first started a few years back. How are we going about obtaining them now? Is there a FTP site or are we just passing them along?

THOSE other demo disks are still there ... and growing for what I know. They are regular DVDs though. This is a new project of HD material.

The distribution, how to get it, etc, part of it is to be determined.

Weird, they work for me.

Anyway, I've downloaded a bunch of artwork last night for the front. I'm going to leave the back pretty much like it is in version #3, with the exception of some minor title and logo rearrangement.
I'm going to probably scrap the front and do something different, but since I'm traveling this week, I won't have a chance to play with it until next week.

I'll keep you all posted.

I think this has been determined already.

From what I gather the projoect will be sized for DVD-9 and be distributed via biztorrent .

My ISP (smaller Canadian company) has offered up some server space at their office for seeding.

That'll be because they don't want people external to directly link to their images, which is a fair deal.

What we need to get is the actual link to the page which those images are on, and where on that page those images are.

guys, if you are getting the stop.gif and still want to see the other covers, try this. Instead of clicking on the link, right click on it and choose 'save target as'. Then save it to your desktop. Should open fine.

Hey everyone.

Thanks for all your votes!! I've updated the semi-final list of scenes for the HD Demo disc on the 2nd post of this thread. Looks like we won't make Christmas '09 I apologize for that guys.

A few notes:
  • I added a new category called Animation. I thought this might be nice to demo when there are young children in the room.
  • If there are multiple scenes from a specific movie within a specific category, I will choose the best one of those to put on the disc.
  • Once all scenes are ripped and in my hands, I will demo each and make the final selections.

Not even close! The idea is the pick the best 3 or 4 from each category and we'll fit what we can the one disc. Believe me, we'll fill it to the brim.

Swithey,

Thanks for the update - nice touch with the animation category for kids. Apologize - are you kidding, I'll be thrilled whenever it is ready.

Clearly, I'm a man of action - just give me a few minutes to think about it.

+1

Just wanted to extend thanks for your efforts, even if I might have said it before (can't recall) enough can't be said of your being willing to spearhead this project. Also to the others contributing to the project a big THANK YOU

No worries here Steve!

On a photo forum that I frequent we have put together 3 180+ page books (one per year) of images submitted from members. It takes about 10 months for each book. Knowing how much work goes into a project on "spare time", you'll see no complaining from me! Thanks for your (and all the others') hard work!

Thank you very much, my young kids/their friends sometimes gets scared by the great demo scenes of more violent movies, this will enable "show off" time w/o them closing their eyes.

OK guys, here's the next cover attempt. I've also included some small close-up shots of various areas of the cover, so that you can see that everything's actually very clear.

As always comments and suggestions are appreciated. Keep in mind there's still things that need to be aligned.

SCREEN CAPS IN NEXT POST.
