Not worried at all.

I use B&W CWM8180 for 4 surrounds, and they have strikingly different native timbre than the Aerials up front. PEQ fixed all that, which was also the case when I ran a Datasat AP-20, the Sherwood Trinnov, and an Onkyo with MultEQ XT. So I have confidence that the Marantz 7702 with XT32 will take care of it.

Sure hope you're planning on photos of your installation! Copycat is a little used word here at AVS, but we all apply the very same concept.

When do you expect Marantz 7702 to show up in room? Many members will be watching and looking forward to your comments..........in actuality, we want to learn from your trials and tribulations.

Very nice!

The room sounds great.

I wonder how it will sound when I use these speakers!

Those Tannoy's look as if they were made especially for your room! Which height are they now from the floor up?

Very nice to have seen pictures of your space once again...

Also very interested in hearing how you like the Marantz AV7702 when you get it.

They hang from the 8' ceiling. The bottom edge is ~12" below the ceiling. I call them my Agnos™ speakers (as in agnostic of sound format).

Cool looking room, have you played them yet to see what they sound like?

Only enough to confirm they work. This week I will EQ them with the Illusonic processor, feeding L/R/Ls/Rs so I can A/B compare to the mains and see how well they can be matched. They sound different (no EQ), as expected, but there's no audible "sharp edges" in the sound, so I expect they will dial in nicely.

Thanks I asked them for a quote, the other option I might consider are these for my B&W room!

B&W 805D2 mounted on the wall with http://www.btechavmounts.com/product.../products/bt77

or a cheaper alternative would be

B&W AM1 http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Speake..._Monitors.html

What do you think, I a just concerned about timbre matching and aesthetics

The AM1s look nice. Worth a try, and if they don't meet with your approval, they can be used elsewhere.

Yes that's what I was thinking, except when I asked B&W they said: "Ideally you will want a speaker that has a similar timbre response to your mains. The AM1 would not integrate as well as an 805D."

^ B&W has no idea how they will sound, to you, after they are nicely EQ'd.

No concern at all. They are not the usual MDF dead weight boxes. They are just 12 lbs.

I see you went with outdoors speakers rather than in ceiling any reasons why?

I wanted a) not to cut holes in the ceiling, b) total flexibility for aiming, c) no shiny trim or logos. Matt black disappears.

These are "outdoor" speakers like JBL Control 1. Unlike consumer speakers, these come with detailed specs, which I wanted to see.

Yes I am in the same boat I am reluctant to cut wholes in the ceiling, and might just bite the bullet and get the same ones the best price I can find are $178 each

http://www.markertek.com/Audio-Equip...DC-WHITE.xhtml

Is that the best price!

I bought mine from them.

Also, have a look at this "prettier" DVS series from Tannoy.

They say you need a transformer also they are cheaper than the other ones, does that mean not as good quality or sound?
