Hello All
I have started on my basement construction. I have the Media room framing done.

It is a 22 ft by 14.5 ft room.

I had got the equipment closet made at the back of the room. But my question is that if all my equipment is in the closet, how will my remotes work.

So far I have the following items:
1. AV123 MFW-15 subwoofer.
2. Planning to get the Definitive speakers to make it 7.1
3. Planning to get Denon AVR 1910.
4. Planning to get a projector (prob Panasonic) and a grey screen.
5. I have purchased a few HDMI cables 35 ft and speaker cables 12AWG from monprice.

Can you please suggest me on designing the room and the rack. I was thinking all my equipment goes in the closet at the back. But then how do the remotes work? Also where should I put my subwoofer.

I was also planning on getting a 55-60 inch TV so I can use that when I am not using the projector.. So that would be on the front wall and the projector screen can be 6 inch front of it.

Help and design ideas appreciated.

For your remote control.. you will need an IR repeater system or a remote that supports RF signals and an RF to IR converter. Here are a few examples:

I can only speak for myself... but I'd prefer a fixed screen and skip the additional television. We use our theater as our primary TV as well. HDTV on the big screen is fantastic. I would never put the screen up to use the smaller television.
