So I'm looking at the gear I'm going to buy for my HT.

The gear I think I might have:
Pioneer Elite SC 37
Oppo BluRay player
Scientific Atlanta HD cable box
Panasonic PT-AE4000U
game consoles

Seems as some of these and other units have an IR input - looks like a mini jack.

I plan on hiding all my equipment into a closet.

Looking at Niles or Xantech IR repeaters. How might this work - mini jack from one of the flasher outputs to the IR Input on the equipment (rather than pasting the flasher to the gear? Is that better/more reliable?

So in my case I'd have some things hardwired and some that don't support IR minijacks would have the flashers.

Any suggestions on this front?
