Quite honestly, because I had originally intended to finish the project mid summer and ran over by a couple of months, I have spent the last several weeks catching up on unfinished projects.  I'm hoping to get back to the finishing touches in the theater after the holidays.

I will also post some pictures from the HEMI meet - hopefully this weekend.  Zoran sent me a disk filled with pictures.  I just haven't had a chance to post them.

Of course, I want to make it clear that none of this has stopped me from watching lots of movies ;).

I started following your thread this fall. Awesome job, everything looks incredible!

The Fusion escapes are absolutely worth every penny!  Everyone who sits in them loves them.  The adjustable headrests are the icing on the cake.  Being able to fine-tune the position of your head makes a big difference.  If I had to do it again, I would get the exact same chairs.

The only thing I can come up with that I don't like about the chairs is I wish you could power off the lights when the chairs aren't in use.  I hit the lock button, so there is only one red light on, but it would be nice to shut them down when no one is in the room.  There was someone in the Escape thread who mentioned they had to replace a couple of bulbs after having the chairs 2 years.

My wife is a Sound of Music fanatic.  We watch it at least once a year.  I figured she would be excited about the show last night.  She is also a purist and refused to watch it.  She likes Carrie Underwood, but said she is not Julie Andrews and wouldn't watch it.

That was the right choice. As much as you might like to say that this was a different version, which shouldn't be compared to the movie, you will still compare them - and Julie Andrews will always be the definitive version.

Nick, really nice work. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build out. Jealous of your pinball machines, and especially the bowler. My grandfather had a Keeney shuffle bowler in his tavern. If you ever spot a back glass for a Kenney let me know, I'd love to have one hanging up in my small basement.

Just stopped by to reference your stain and poly procedure post... Two years! Exactly *two* years since you started spraying stain. Time flies!

Hope all is well!

Wow! I guess I haven't looked at my thread in a LONG time. I read posts on the forum from time to time, but haven't really updated anything on this thread. The good news is that I use the theater a lot and still love it. I have a few tweaks I want to make and a few lingering tasks that seem to never get done (imagine that - hang the projector and work ends).

The one thing I can say without a doubt is that it was all worth it. It is hard to believe I almost made an open concept game room/theater. Not that there is anything wrong with that design, but having a dedicated theater is amazing. The sound proofing and acoustic treatments make all of the difference in the world.

I have a couple of winter projects I am working on (Installing Brazilian Walnut flooring on the first floor), but in the Spring, I plan to get back to the basement and even make some improvements to the theater. I'm still loving all of my equipment, so no strong desire to change anything there, but if Ultra HD takes off, I will seriously consider it.

Now I hope it isn't months, or even longer, before I revisit my thread again .
