I would really like to do three panels featuring movie poster artwork from the three Ghostbusters movies. Cinematerial had GBI and GBII. It says you can't use the image for posters, but it also says you can donate and download the file.

Anyone try this out? If so, did you get a file you could print that would fit panels like these? Otherwise, if anyone has suggestions of where to get appropriate files for those movies, please let me know!

Thanks!

Had this issue when I was in my planning stages then someone from this thread suggested "google images" find the best resolution and size possible. I was able to find the right posters at the best possible quality using google.

Thanks! I found "close enough" movie posters for GBII and the reboot (big size and the style of the official posters), but couldn't find one for GBI. I am looking for this style:

GB1984

Oh man, that's a classic, I had trouble finding the Goodfellas poster in good quality.

Yeah, that is a tough one. There are "large" versions of it, but they are still grainy and most have bad light reflections. LOTS of cleanup for those images to work well. So sad... It IS a classic.

So today, I ordered 2 more prints for my walls (to go from three to four 24" x 48" panels on each side wall) as well as a large 56" x 108" print of the milky-way to cover my current fiber optic star ceiling panel. I am going to have to attach that fabric to the 2" panel that holds the fiber optics so that it doesn't "sag" but it should still work well. I will have a bit of tinkering to do in order to get the optical stars to show through the fabric, but it will work well enough, and then at least the panel will look good with the lights on.

Heading to the home improvement store in a few minutes to get my 1x4 lumber for the frames...

HI all I bought a few of the ATS acoustic panels in maroon and of course the wife is throwing fits. So I found this forum out. My question is should I take the existing material off or just put the print over it?

Why not just put print over it.

Just an update for people. I am heading out on a long vacation tomorrow (heading to Niagara Falls, then Montreal, and then spending a week in New Hampshire) and won't be back until July 20th. I'm currently caught up as of last night with image resize and custom graphics work requests, and will not be taking on any more until I get back.

I do have a few people that are sort of "in the hopper" but have not yet gotten me their final image choices or approvals of samples, so I *might* still work through those while traveling, but those people already know that I am not making any promises.

It will be a nice little break for a while. Even though this topic here on AVS hasn't had a post (prior to this one) in about a month, I have been keeping busy with requests.

So enjoy yourselves... I know that I am going to try to.

Enjoy! If I could find the original Ghostbusters movie poster, I'd be inclined to send you some work!

what is the go to 24 x 48 insulation for this project? I thought I had this all figured out and now I can't find it.

I found roxul safe and sound 24 at lowes' website but you have to order min 3 packages and I sort of only need 1. I may try to just hack up the 16x48 pieces that I have.

While the wife and I haven't negotiated the final artwork, I am going to start building four panels for first reflections in a non-dedicated theater living room. Based off trying to read an overwhelming amount of info here, I *think* I am going to build 24x36 panels and, if I add movie poster art, have the pic edited to fit.

Does that seem like an ok plan?

My understanding is that four inch frames are probably ideal, but I am thinking of going 2" for the aesthetic. Am I crazy?

I've seen a couple different build ideas...any consensus on what would to use for someone that is only mildly crafty? I plan on spray painting the frames black, using Roxul insulation, and covering with something from JoAnn Fabrics until consensus is decided.

If all else fails, I can still get movie posters printed for them and put them in my home office as I do some basic home recording and listening. Thanks!
