From one Wisconsinite to another: get it done for Badger football and more importantly...a BREWER World Series!

looking good.

Actual phone call (see pic to left):

Tech (responding to laughter): "I'm sorry sir, did I miss something?"

Me: "Yeah, a case of Diet Mountain Dew walking across my living room."

If anyone is wondering the basement Carpet is a darker gray, but the iPhone 4 camera lightens it up a good deal.

Nice.
Yes, I would suspect you would go dark.

Not 100% sure yet... Lol. But I know it's darker then the flat black walls.

The pictures don't do a good job showing the difference. But I can assure you once the project is complete I will be using a much better camera to get the final shots.

That is awesome!!!! I love that screen! It's the same one I want for my basement. Seymour screens are hard to beat for the money. I also love how your room is completely dark. Your room looks fantastic. That image must really pop. I was wondering if you could tell me what projector you're using? I know you need a decent amount of lumens to project that large a picture. Also how far back is the projector from the screen? Thanks.

Thanks SOWK. I have been looking for someone on the theater build thread to get a screen that big so I can see what it would look like. Exactly what I thought it would:AMAZING! Alright one other question for you. How far is the first row from the screen? I see no point in getting a screen that big and then having to sit 20ft from it. I'm just hoping I can sit close enough and not see any perfs. Thanks again SOWK!

First row 14.5 feet away. No possible way to see perforations. Even at 12 feet would be nearly impossible.

Screen looks AWESOME. Getting the same screen and side panels, just not sure what size. You're happy with brightness I presume? How about screen height? Lastly, any pics showing speaker placement?

Great job on that screen wall.

Brightness I am ok with, not thrilled, but ok. Also, I do NOT use an anamorphic lens, so this takes down the brightness some as well. The projector has 330 hours on it, but I have 2 brand new bulbs as a back up.

I figure I may only get about 700 hours of use per bulb for my brightness wants.

Screen height viewable is 64" height.

Speakers are not in yet, and will be the last thing going into the theater room, so it may still be a while.

Speakers are:
Front left/right - Vandersteen Quatros
Center - Vandersteen VCC-5
Surround left/right - Vandersteen VSM-1
Rear left/right - Vandersteen VSM-1
Subs - 2 x Vandersteen V2W

Wow. That's perfect. I was hoping between 13-14ft. I keep going back and forth between AT and a regular screen but I know nothing gives you that movie theater feel like an AT. Thanks again SOWK and enjoy that awesome room.

Acoustical Panels going up...

I will have them floating off the wall, like the one in the picture.
