I built these about a year ago with the help of a friend I have lost touch with. I can't wait to get these going again!

Thanks so much! The boxes are Chief brand, they are very nice in that the outlet wires into them. Sorry for the delayed response, I've had a very busy month at work.

Thanks! I working through the weekend on a large construction project for work, but I think I should find some time to spend on the system as well as update this thread for the first time in a long time.

Very nice. I wished I could had pre-wired the home myself rather than have the idiots the builder contracted out to. It was a mess, left wires hanging out of the walls instead of using keystones, used 18 gauge solid for surround speakers, didn't wire the alarm up properly....and the list just goes on. It's frustrating because I couldn't prewire due to 'insurance reasons', when I know I could had done a LOT better of a job.

Looks really nice and jealous of it!

Yeah, it was a struggle to be able to pre-wire it. Basically, I was up against the same issue. But I just did it anyways and it was so much that no one was willing to rip it out. The pre-wire would have been over 50k at builder prices and the wire quality would have been questionable at best. I didn't do the alarm and I am not very happy with it.

I am having a bit of trouble getting the relays on my IO extenders to control the power state of some power amplifiers that I have. I have cut a headphone cable in two and stripped the insides and was able to determine that the red and yellow wires are the critical elements. I was able to do this by using the pre-amp I have and connecting the red to the red and yellow to the yellow on the two cut ends of the head phone 3.5mm cord. This produced immediate power state changes on the power amplifier. I tried to replicate this on NO and NC on the IO extender and was unable to get the unit to switch power states when powering the room on and off with the remote. When I power the room on and off with the remote I can hear the relay engaging in the IO extender. Any thoughts?

Jeeze I really need to move to Tx, that house would easily be 1-1.5 million here (even on the edge of the city). Great looking house.

Well I got it working..... Here is what I had to do.

1 - Took old wall wart 12v power supply and cut the end off.
2 - Wired (-) wire from the power supply to the (-)'s of all the 3.5mm wires.
3 - Wired the neutral into all the commons of the relay ports on the IO extender.
4 - Wired the neutral from the 3.5mm plug to the NO or normally open on the relays.

So when the relay closes it completes the circuit sending 12v DC to the trigger on each of the amps.

Success!

Baluns installed for Control4 interfaces where component video was not run. The spool of component video I bought was MSRP $1000 and I couldn't bear doing some of the longer runs with it so I resorted to this.

The HDMI balun is for the projector. I wanted the highest quality I could find. I ran Audioquest HDMI and this HDBaseT balun and the balun blows the HDMI PQ out of the water.
