I'll have to have you over to my place to do some panels. Do you work for beer by any chance?

Like the combustible engine uses gasoline, I literally am fueled by beer (or bourbon).  Occasionally, I find solid foods add a nice mix to the solution.  It's amazing how much upholstery this project has included!  I had no idea when I started.  Thanks for the support and I'd love to help, bud.

Thanks David!  I'm just doing the best I can and sharing with you guys.  My hope is that someone somewhere will find a small part of what I've posted useful since I've used so much of what others have posted.  Like, a LOT of other people's information. :)

Loved the gifs, Mfusick!  The stars are for, um, I don't know.  Who needs a reason to draw stars, right?!  (I was just happy it was the last panel's calculations :) )

Woohoo!

Brown, brown, brown... :)  Hey, I ordered a superty duper plush rug to go in between the seats and the stage. It matches the walls exactly.  That's comin' soon and should ease the 'brownness' of the room!

Time to call it, folks!  I'm finished with this major phase of my room.  Sure, I have other things to do, like a bar behind my seats and the kitchenette, but those will have to wait for another time.

To celebrate my completion, I bought a $12 wide angle macro lens for my Nikon and took some pictures!  I hope you enjoy them!

Also, you'll notice my new seats are in.  That's a long story that I'll share, maybe in another post...  Anyway, pictures!

I wanted to show you the entrance to my theater.  You can also see Levels 2 & 3. :)

Thank you!

Looks great Steve! The short lens is a nice touch - now I feel like I can see the whole place and it looks very good.

Is it solipsistic in here, or is it just me?

Thanks, Fred.  That lens helps a lot, though, I had to do a bit of RAW file editing to get it to look less fish-eyed.  I tried to take a video or picture on my iPhone last night of me playing Bioshock Infinite because it has a native 2.35 mode (and looks amazing), but it just fails in all sorts of spectacular ways.  Heh.

Officially added to my "great theaters picture gallery".

That's an awesome compliment, David.  Thank you! Trust me, I use it every night!  I even let the kids and wife use it a couple times per week.  tongue.gif

Weird, the images aren't showing up for me today, but they did yesterday, and I remember what I saw, and everything looks great Steve, congratulations! Viva la brown!

p.s. and I really have to get one of those cheapie macro lens deals - oh wait, maybe I actually already have one and forgot about it! biggrin.gif

Looks great, Steve! From the looks of those fabric corners, I'd say you and Puffs have done this once or twice before.

Viva la brown!  :)

This is the lens I ordered, if anyone is interested: Neewer 0.45x 52mm Wide Angle Lens with Macro

Also, here is one of the images before and after I modified them, to give you an idea of what the lens does!  (obviously, the color temp and other adjustments were just a symptom of using the auto feature on my camera)

You know, I used my public dropbox account to publish these pictures.  I wonder if I should upload them here and link them directly...  I was trying to get them inline into the post, instead of the 500 pixel limit when you upload them.

I think I just got lucky on getting those corners just right. I did have a little practice when I wrapped my velvet for the front stage, though. Your theater is looking amazing, btw. :)  Thanks for the compliment and poppin' into my humble space here. :)

Thanks guys!  We've been watching a ton of stuff down there.  Lately, we've hooked, AND I MEAN HOOKED, on The Killing.  Never before has any show been more addictive.  Holy smackers!  Oh, I just got the rug in today.  The boys love it, it's extremely soft.  I'll post pictures tonight/tomorrow.

Steve, big thanks for the details on making the panels, especially the corners. You posted right before I was going to make some. Your way works really well. Room looks great!
