Well I guess no one cares but I'll keep posting for my records

I added an old received yesterday to be dedicated to me heights so it's always running 11.2. I had been sharing zones on another receiver with my basement ceiling speakers.

And my hinges arrived yesterday. Last thing I need to do is the door. I ran out of green glue so I ordered that and door seals. They're arrived this week. Im making my door look like the room so it'll be several inches thick. I'll go into detail when I have the pics

I was using these hinges temporary to have a door while these were on order. I routed out for the new big ones so you can see how massive why are.

Do you have a plan for 'how' you are making your door? I know @RedStripe88 built his own door, and I thought it looked quite nice and quite robust. I think it is on post 216 of his thread... The Salt Mine - A Dedicated Family Theater

How does your main receiver and the 'added' receiver interface? Meaning, I assume that your main receiver is actually sending the "Height" signal, to your just added receiver and the just added receiver somehow is then providing the amplification?

My Denon AVR-4520 has up to 11 channels, but only 9 are 'powered'. I thought I would need an external 'amp' to use the other two, but had never considered just using another receiver. I have a few unused ones lying around, so, something to consider.

I hadn't seen his thread but that's close to my plan. It's not really hard to make a door and it's hundreds of times cheaper than buying a sound proof door. My intent is to make it not look like a door, I'll explain more later.

I have the same receiver, the 4520, if you look on the back there's rca connections for he heights and wides. So I just have the red and white Rca cable going to my other receivers "cd" input, or anyone you want. Then pick two speaker terminals to connect to your heights, like the left and right on the receiver. It's not different that hooking up any input, just happens to be to add extra speakers to your theater.

The old receiver isn't anywhere near as powerful so I ended up keeping it at like 75 percent max volume when I did my speaker levels. At first it was at 50 and I had to set he level to plus 10 decibels so just for Ocd purposes I turned up the volume then the receiver adjustment was much less.

Oh oh my green glue just arrived, and some more 703 foam and rubber strips. The strips seem kinda ****ty so we'll see how they do. It'll be weird using tubes if green glue after using several five gallon buckets with the dispensing gun. I guess it's time to make those final door decisions!

Today's progress for national IPA day. Well I started demoing the bathroom but that's a side note

Here's when my younger husky was a puppy and I started the heater build. He didn't mind the construction and would have his head on boards while I was screwing them into the floor lol

We'll see how mine holds up. I did buy carpet treads originally thinking it wouldn't turn out nice so I can always but them on. That and poly is slippery

It was a Kickstarter and they just finally started shipping. If you google the Kickstarter their videos of it are pretty cool

AWESOME work!! Love the bar, the tank, the twelve (gulp) beer taps and especially the theater. Way to finish strong.

Congrats to completing a fantastic room! How does it sound?

Thanks I appreciate it. I spent all day yesterday working on the door. Creating a custom door is slower going that I thought. And my router stopped working so they ended the day.

Theater sounds amazing. The dual svs subs are game changers and most guests have never heard a real treated room with real subs. Been using the star ceiling more and more. Having it be almost done really makes it all worth it!

And yea 12 seems like a lot of beers but it's for variety. They're mostly big beers. I age them and try them as the flavors mature. So if I only had, say six taps, I'd hate to have to quick chug some bourbon barrel beer just to make room for the next
