Make sure the mic is above the back of the seats as close to ear height as possible but you want to have a direct line to every speaker. When it states 8 seats it really is not. I have a 8 seat theater and it sounded like crap when I did that. After research I found you need to be within 3' of MLP for each setting. I have 4 seats in front and rear and I sit in front center right seat. My wife likes the rear row so if just the 2 of us I sit in rear center right seat (2nd MLP).
2 front center left seat
3 Then I do over the arm rest between the seats
4 Other MLP arm rest
5. I put the mic 2 feet behind MLP on the riser but raise it up 2 feet. kind of like a straight line between MLP ears and rear row 2nd MLP ears.
6. Same but behind left center seat
7. Between thoes 2 locations
I also started the process using #7
as the MLP then #6
then the the front to center seats, the rear two center seats and back to #7
this gives you the best sound regardless of seating location.
I find the base lacking so I go back and plus the base up 3-5 Db after saving the settings. (I like to feel the base and Audyssey makes it flat) Even if it identifys your LCRs as Full set them to samll and the cross over to 80.
