Right now our plan has the media room at 11x20. What width would be best for the 20' length? There will be 2 rows of seating with a small bar at the back to put the a/v equipment under. Almost sounds like the room isn't long enough? For 11' wide I am limited to just 3 seats across?

Equipment I currently have
Denon 3312
Epson 8350
Klipsch Rf3 fronts, rc3,rs3
SVS pb2+
APC s10 battery backup
Toshiba hd dvd
Xbox 360

Sounds a little tight for three across. Are you planning projection or a big TV?

I have no clue. I emailed him to widen the room to 14ft. Several foot from the back wall I want a bar and have the equipment under it. Any other ideas? He is trying to finalize everything so we can get started.

Maybe just step down once and have the rear row at the same level as the bar?

Who is he? And why are you so anxious to start with a half a$$ed plan? Don't commit to anything without a layout plan for the seating and bar, 21 is really tight for two rows and a bar.

He is my builder and we need to get started. I might just drop the bar and put the equipment in a rack in the master closet.
