Hey Guys,
I am starting to think about and plan my media room. Any software packages that aren't crazy expensive that you guys could recommend?

I used Punch! Architectural 3000 (I got it for about $40). It worked well, but Google's Sketchup is an excellent tool. The Punch! products allow the generation of material lists.

Free AutoCAD clone. Don't bother though unless you already speak AutoCAD. Your time is better spent building stuff than learning convoluted software.

Building Bass - Subs

Have a look at this guy's design. If you like it, the free program is from SweetHome3D. As opposed to a general purpose graphics tool like SketchUp, this is aimed at room/home designs. It's easy to learn.

But a lot depends on what level of detail and precision you want to include.

Deadwood Atmos theater [HTOM]
AV7702 Atmos 7.4.4, SSP-800 PLIIx 7.4
Aerial Acoustics 7B/CC3B fronts, B&W CWM8180 surrounds, Tannoy Di6 DC heights, Hsu ULS-15 subs
