"Instructions
-Unzip the download to produce the standard BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders.
-Open the STREAM folder. You will see text files such as "00007_VIS0006" and "00015_SURR0008." Respectively, they mean "Take file 00006 in the STREAM folder of the Visuals disc, rename it 00007, and drop it here," and "Take file 00008 in the STREAM folder of the Surround disc, rename it 00015, and drop it here."
-Do this for each text file. Note that there is no 00028! Make sure you don't lose, delete or change any of the m2ts files that are already there.
-Delete the text files , sort by type or size.
-Resort by name just to be on the safe side."

Followed the above but Animation does not play. Appreciate any help. Thanks.

Your iso has consecutive files 00044 through 00053?

Yes. However 44,45,46 and 52,53 are not similar to the other clips. They are similar to those that appear before the other chapters.

As they should be. I have no idea, if the others are showing up as m2ts files of decent length.
Can you try playing each file individually?

I did try playing files individually and they played. I have since tried another software and they all play in the new software. The question I have is why would only the Animation not play in first software. Thanks for your help.

I'm thinking about downloading these disks, but I just wanted to see if anyone had success playing them on a Sony BDP-S350 with DVD-DL media.

Yes, I've played every one I've tried (3 of the 5) on my BDP-350, no problems.

None played on my Panny BR players, old or new, but the BD-50 plays great.

Darn it stinks when the disc burns fail though - it's money down the toilet! I turned off verify on my second disc burn and it failed nearly immediately. Probably has no reation but I had already burnt one disc and thought I wouldn't need to verify. grrr. I turned it back on and the third attempt is working better - but still in progress. I burnt the first on my 50gB BD-RE to make sure I had a working practice, then the second on a $5 BD-R and it immediately coastered. Then the 3rd attempt is on another $5 BD-R I found some cheap BD-R disks on newegg, but even cheap ones are still $5 a piece...I'd like to have it on BD-R and get my BD-RE back for future project testing.

sigh.

Perfect. Did you have to use the patched index files or did you leave them as downloaded?

Sadly, that's often a problem with cheap discs. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes not.

sigh.

I made a $10 coaster last night trying to burn this demo to a Verbatim BD50 disk. Two days ago I used the same procedure/settings (in Imgburn) with the Scubasteve's demo and it worked fine. On my next try, I am going to use the test burn option in Imgburn and if that is OK I'll then force the write speed down to 4X on the real burn. While burning Scubasteve's demo I saw my write speed climb to over 8X. Googling that turned up that the Verbatim 6X disks actually support 8X or higher with newer burners (I have a LG BH12LS38). Fingers crossed.

I usually reduce the speed to 2x. It takes a lot longer, but whether is true or not, you ensure that the disc will write correctly.

I've burned thousands of disc, between CDs, DVDs and now BDs, and I can remember less that 10 coasters... lucky or not but I reduce the speed for burning.

BTW... if you think was luck, then don't burn any disc today... Friday the 13th.

Both, and frankly, I don't recall which was which, but I think they all worked, patched or not. I don't think it hurts anything to patch, needed or not, so may as well. Blanks aren't terribly expensive, so it doesn't cost much to experiment and guess wrong once or twice.

This. Always burn slower. I've burned many Blurays and have had success at 1x, 2x and 4x, but the few coasters I made came at 4x. Never any at 2x and 1x. Sometimes you simply get a bad disc that would take the "burn". Regardless there's no reason someone should be concerned about cranking this thing out at 4x or 8x. Is the 20 to 40mins gonna be that pivotal?

Ok brace yourselves for what is most likely a very noobish question.

When I download the tracker from mediafire in Google Chrome it only displays a text document with the name RAR_Reference_BD50.torrent

When I double click it I am prompted for the password but then the only thing that opens is a very long document in notepad with a bunch of strange symbols.

I tried right clicking and extracting the files with WinRAR but I'm not given the option to extract.

Any ideas?

Also a big thanks to superleo! The individual segments are awesome and I can't wait to try the full version!

I get the same thing in Safari on the Mac. Just rename the file by removing the '.txt' and make sure the '.rar' extension is at the end of the file. -TD

No one is selling discs. That's a big no-no. You'll need to find a friend to download and burn it for you if you don't want to try it yourself.

As I understand it, little home-made demo projects are being ignored by the powers-that-be, but if money starts changing hands, the legal departments at the studios are going to come down like hammer, and AVS will cut them off immediately, plus you're on your own with the legal fight.

Please don't screw this up for everyone. NO MONEY.

Great project. I have an Oppo BDP-83 BD player. I would like to download the BD demo disc, but do not have a BD burner on my Dell computer. Could someone recommend an inexpensive BD burner that would work for my situation? Are these BD burners something that is added to computer externally or do I need to remove one of my DVD drives already in my computer?
