So I just got an IR repeater a few days ago. Have that all setup and it works perfectly with the cheap universal remote I have currently.

In a couple of months I plan on getting one of the Harmony remotes. I'm going to either pick the Harmony One or the Harmony 900.

I have question though... My devices will be hidden, but since I have an IR repeater all setup the 900 would probably not be worth it since the IR repeater will be the substitute of the RF, right?

Am I correct in thinking that?

I don't have either yet, but will be in the market for one soon.

From what I've seen, the RF capability of the 900 is only good for communicating with the proprietary harmony RF extender, which would receive the RF signal and convert it to IR to blast to your equipment.

Since you already have a IR Repeater, IMO the RF would be worthless unless you need to control some devices out of the range of your current IR Repeater "circuit".

Correct. If you have the IR repeater working, you don't "need" RF. The 900 has some additional features, IIRC, but that's probably a question for the Remote Control forum...

Just something to think about, but with having RF built into the remote, you no longer need to "point" it at anything. Which sounds petty at first, but becomes amazingly appreciated after you get used to it.

You don't even need to remove your arm from under the blanket to pause or adjust volume.

Personally, I'm a fan of the URC remotes in lue of the harmony remotes, least of which because they offer RF functionality at more price points.
