I'm going to lay down some natural bamboo flooring (not engineered) in an upstairs bedroom. My home theater is downstairs, under this room.

Is this a decent underlayment? The price is a bit more than I want to spend, but with $7 shipping per 100 sq.ft. it's not horrible.

That's certainly not cheap.

When you say "not engineered", you're going to nail this down?

Hi Ted,

It's the least expensive 5mm or 6mm rubber underlayment I can find. Rubber Underlayment is what I've decided on after researching cork vs. rubber underlayments. I'm still open to other suggestions though.

I will be doing either floating floor or glue down floor. I will not be nailing or screwing down the flooring.
The bamboo is real bamboo flooring. It's not engineered or fake.

OK. Floating a floor on rubber is fine to cut impact noise. I'll send you a PM
