Need help ASAP. Closing walls soon.

Thats a large space, you're going to need something more than just 1 in wall sub.....unless its that BG thing, but even then

4 - not in the ceiling at the mid points of the walls....but then you need DSP to integrate them (mini dsp), measurements (calibrated mic, soundcard and REW) etc etc

......what are you looking at buying?

I believe the Triad in walls are popular here, if you're hooked on in ceiling, QSC make some that are good (architectural series I think its called)

I was actually trying to 1 in ceiling unit.

A Speaker Craft BassX-2 with amp.

Thoughts...If I need to go to two of them I can do that.

Do you have room for an IB set up in the ceiling?

Is it solipsistic in here, or is it just me?

Have you purchased them yet? I'd look at al in wall solution and put in the middle of the two long side walls.....thats a punt though, you should ask the people you're buying them from.......hopefully they have some idea about what they sell (not always the case)

I hadn't heard of that sub. For the sake of everyone else who isn't familiar with it, here is the manufacturer's description (google is our friend!): "Dual 8" woofers are mounted inside the 10" round by 10" deep durable steel enclosure designed to fit even in the first floor ceiling of a two story house." Looks like it is intended to be used with a rack-mounted 1000 watt amp.

Even though the unit uses "dual 8" woofers," only one woofer actually radiates into the room. An 8" woofer can only move so much air, even with 1000 watts behind it. If your budget allows, I think you would be better off using two.

Putting one sub at the center of each of the long walls might produce smoother bass response. Putting the subs in corners would produce more output, but likely not as smooth.
