Hi every one ,i have read quite alot about sound proofing but i still need advice please .I live in a semi detached house with a double brick wall in between ( no cavity ) and the noise from next door is quite loud ( mother and child mainly ) it is airborne noise although when i am downstairs and they are up it can be loud as they have laminate flooring upstairs too , i must say i want to play my home cinema system.with out to many complaints hopefully , also the joists run from front to back so i wonder if i build a studded wall in 4 x 2 wood just away from the joining wall or put 2 x 1 on the joining wall and then use mineral wool ( is it realy worth using it ? ) and then put 12.5mm plasterboard on with either green glue or mlv between and then another layer of 12.5mm plasterboard and sealed with acoustic sealent . So please advise which is best for this green glue or mass loaded vinyl ? thnak you .
