I'm ready to order seating for my theater but I'm now second guessing opting for curved seating. My theater is a small room that is 15ft long and 14 ft wide (minus 2in thick wall panels on each side of room = approx 13ft 6in). I'll be doing one row of seats and opted for space savers. If I go with a straight configuration ( IOIOIOIOIOI )there will be approximately 6 inches of space between the ends of the chairs and the acoustic panels covering the sides. If I opt for the three center seats straight and the outer two curved ( IOVOIOIOVOI ) I will have a few inches of clearance from the armrest's widest point to the panels. The straight is approximately 12ft 6in wide and the outer curved is approx 13ft. I'm not considering any loveseat configurations and I do not need regular access to the rear of the seating. The entry will be from the side of the room in front of the seating. From an aesthetic standpoint both will probably look fine but the straight may look a bit nicer with a little more clearance. However, the curved may give the outer seating better view of the screen (115in wide screen at approx 12-13 ft viewing distance).
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.
