I'm still here. Waiting patiently. I thought if I busted you too much you wouldn't call. Lol. Sucks that the carpet is on backorder. How is the other stuff coming along?

I'm still here for ya Vik just waiting on THE phone call to get everything all set up and running.

Plus I would feel bad busting you out with news like that.

Hope carpet goes in as smooth as possible! I have a question ive always been curious about with curved screens. Is it diffucult to get fine focus just right having the edges of the screen at a different distance than the center? Or does the anamorphics compensate for that?

Thanks Reddig. This is my first curved screen, PJ and A-lens so i am no expert. I know without the lens there will be barrel distortion at short throw which is minimized if it is mounted far enough from the screen. I am not sure if there will be focus issues. Also when watching 16:9 content people move the lens away and i did not find anyone on the forum complaining about focus problems. I think someone who is more knowledgeable should answer your question. Anyone ?

I don't know nuttin either, but I did not notice any distortion of the image when we were just doing a test run the other day, That was without the lens as well. I'm sure it is there even if it is infinitesimal, it would only make sense, but it is not anything that stands out or is jump off the screen noticeable.

RTROSE

With a quality lens, you should have no focus problems when the curve is correct. Another point with curved screens ... as the aspect ratio gets wider and as the picture gets closer to the L/R edge of the screen, a flat screen will reflect more and more of the light on to the walls ... not back into the seating location. This will give you a picture which gets less bright as you approach either edge of the screen (low brightness uniformity from side to side). In addition, the light reflected on to the side walls will work against the in room contrast ratio (you want 150:1 in room ANSI...a hard metric to reach outside of a black cave).

Ummmm......I don't think they GAVE him the key chain. I imagine that key chain cost him a pretty penny......and a quarter or two. Obviously not the same cost wise, but when you purchase a Lambo you do get a commemorative and unique key chain. You just have to pay 250K for the privilege of owning a one of a kind key chain. biggrin.gif

Regards,

RTROSE

Oh, and for the record I have no idea if you actually get a key chain with a Lambo, but it sounded good. tongue.gif

Lol biggrin.gif Its really a one of a kind key chain. It has a high output led on it. smile.gif I got a similar one when i purchased the Seymour screen. I thought we get a VS model when we purchase a Lambo dont we ? eek.gif

Vik,

I think it is a either/or type of deal. Either the key chain or the VS model. I would go with the key chain as it will cost you FAR less in the long run! Oh and the VS model would probably have more maintenance issues than the car!

RTROSE
