Hey Guys,

I am in the process of designing and building the bar for my basement. I was wondering how everyone attached their bar to the floor in their theater? I want to build the base of the bar out of wood and then use Granite as the top of the bar. My question is how do I attach the bottom of my bar to the floor in my basement, I have 3/8 inch laminate flooring on top of my concrete that was my unfinished basement floor. How did everyone else do this? Drill holes through my laminate into the concrete and then use tapcons to attach the frame of my bar? Thoughts? Thanks everyone.

The usual process is to fasten 2x4's to the floor using powder actuated fasteners or Tapcons, and then fasten the base cabinets to the 2x4's by screwing through the side of the cabinets into the 2x4's.
