I don't know if this is the best place to ask this:

I have the following LED strip Lighting product
http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-TT-SL001-Waterproof-Changing-Controller/dp/B004T0BM0O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=X6QNC4OL08&coliid=I3FOMSZ1JS4ZTE

I want to recreate the sunrise/sunset via a timer/dimer combo device. I have been searching everywhere online for a programable device that will do this. Any sugestions on what I can do to give the affect of a natural sunrise and sunset, exercising the use of color to mimick this action? For relatively cheap?

Have you looked at lighting controls for Aquariums? I know they have LED dimmers and timers and there is also a controller that let's you control the color spectrum as well. I can't remember the brand but maybe it's a start.

mijotter and domz77 thanks for the replies. What I've decided to try to do is use a Rasberry Pi micro computer to allow me to write a program and create the effect I'm looking for. I still have to finish my build and painting before this step though. The lighting effect will be my last step. smile.gif I'm hoping in the next 2 weeks to get the work done, now that I have all the electrical working, it should be full steam ahead. The Misses will be happy too, since the project has been on stand still since May o.O

Well, if using the pi for the lighting control doesn't work out for you,
you can always make a mini stand up arcade machine that uses a cell phone
screen as a monitor Think I might have to do 1 of these for myself!
THIS THING ACTUALLY WORKS PERFECTLY - SAME SOUNDS, SPRITES, CONTROLS, EVERYTHING
