Does anyone know why the hemmed edge on the furring channel is critical for the pliteq clip install? I have some furring channel that isn't hemmed and it seems to fit tightly to the clip. Please help.

The 25 gauge hemmed edge channel is recommended for easier installation and increased resilience over the 20 gauge non-hemmed edge channel. All the sound tests for the Pliteq GenieClip are with 25 gauge channel.

The 20 gauge non-hemmed edge channel can be used and is approved for use by the manufacturer. The channel is less resilient though so it will be more difficult to install into the clips.

Other than that, you're set.
