The door will leak sound like crazy until you put on seals or weatherstripping on the jambs, and preferably seal on the bottom. Recommend the Zero International Door Bottoms ("drop seals") and Jamb Stops the Soundproofing Company sells http://www.soundproofingcompany.com/soundproofing-products/door-bottom-jamb-stop/

However, they are not inexpensive. Next choice would be good quality weatherstripping to make the door seal as close to airtight as you can.

I believe in part it is due to a poor seal, even with weatherstrips around, it doesn't seem to be doing a great job, this morning I had heavy rain on the roof was very noisy and was muffled within the room but still quite audible, I then held up some left over insulation and it made a huge difference, could hardly hear it, so I am thinking could I add another door and have some insulation between the two or would that create a different issue?

Recieved my matching centre and set it up on the weekend. Awesome sound across the front stage! Looking forward to setting up a permanent AT screen.

Also getting an 8801, so hoping to improve the sound further.

Next step tuning and treatments....

Put up AT 140" 4k OZTS screen on the weekend. Looks awesome having a wall to wall floor to ceiling scope screen! So far have watched Django & Jack Reacher, both looked and sounded great!

Got an update from Mark recently, upgraded the submersive to a HPi+ amp. Is sounding great, tight bass with great authority. Looking forward to a matching slave coming in the Aussie GB. Hope to have more woofage by Xmas

Hi Matthew,

How'd you go in the end with the door/soundproofing? Did you end up adding another door?

Not yet Tim, to busy enjoying movies, I do think it is worth doing as it really is the only weak point in the room, everything else is great, I'll be sure to update once I sort it out

Built a riser before Xmas and have added 3 recliners to the rear row

Riser is 40cm high & 1.8m deep, would of liked deeper, but would have pushed the front row too close to the screen, made from plywood and is filled with insulation.

Front row is still the money seats, but now comfortable to have guests
