He's going to upload to News Groups (Usenet) so it can be dowloaded/searched via NZB (search engine)

Thanks. That helps.

We'll add the info/link/whatever to the info here when it's ready.

And, not to be a pig, are you going to do this for some of the other discs, too? :)

Yikes caper, why don't you just create Rar recovery (rev) volumes. Similar to Par and would only take a couple of hrs.

An NZB file is very similar to a torrent file where, the client does all the heavy lifting (knows where to look for the rar files, etc, and downloads them).
The main difference between newzbin and torrent is: you download from a server with nzb, and not peer to peer, and no need to "seed" when you are done either.
Enough about that for now, before we derail the topic smile.gif

Yes, I will be doing this for the other discs too. Actually, I decided last night to do the BestofRefDisc first, since it is on a much smaller scale, and will finish with Ref 2 and Ref 1.
I will likely only do a 5% recovery file set due to processing time. The computer I am using for this is also a HTPC for streaming to PS3, which is used to watch a movie or 2 on the weekend. 24 hrs to process 10% recovery files will knock out movie abilities for an entire day. The BestOf is almost ready to U/L. I watched Ironman 3 last night so I still have a tiny amount of prep left to do on it.

Here are the NZB and NFO files for newsgroups. It is still uploading so you may have to wait a few hours for the last few RAR files if you try and download immediately.
This is only for the BD50.

If the OP could post this on the first page with the torrent links, that would a better spot for it. Thanks.

Cheers

One good thing about Newsgroups you sure can top out your download speed from those servers. I get about 3.7megabytes/sec which is fast for this small city, but nowhere near the speed of big city ISP packages. I sure would love to try that Google Fiber they offered for free out in Kansas City, Ive heard that tops out at over 100meg a sec on fiber to your house. eek.gif

Optoma HD33, Onkyo TX-NR818 in a 9.2 setup, Emotiva XPA-5 G2, UPA-700 for eventual 11.2 setup
Oppo BDP-103, , Middle Atlantic Slim 5-37-26

I max out astra web at upwards of 8 Mbytes/sec, usually average 6.5 for downloads; and my speed test is about 11 ish (96 Mbits/sec) but I should be getting 175 on bell fiber op. With eastlink, I could max out my connection at 4.8 Mbytes/sec (about 30 Mbits/sec)

But yes, newsgroups/usenet is MUCH faster than any torrent I have downloaded.

Some menus work with XBMC but others don't. Most clips work but some, mostly in the music segment, don't. If your in openELEC I suggest you do as I did: make symlinks with easy to read names in the top directory pointing to each clip in the STREAM folder. This way when you navigate to the directory you'll see the listing and be able to choose any clip from there. Just make sure to give the .m2ts extension to the symlinks so that XBMC recognizes them as playable files.

What software do you need to create a BluRay disc with menus, I would love to give it a go if I can get my head around it!

FWIW, XBMC Frodo had issues video playback some of the clips on the 50GB disc, mostly in the Music section. These issues have disappeared with XMBC Gotham, all the clips playback without any stutter or skipping.

The changes are mostly under the hood but playback is solid, it handles my BR and DVD MKV rips without any issues. I don't really use it for much else, preferring my Roku for streaming. The collection management is where I think it really shines. You can now edit sets and remove sets which is nice, no more 1 movie sets tongue.gif

You can run it side by side with an existing installation by installing it in another folder.

When using MuliAVCHD to convert to AVCHD structure do you load the AVCHD folder into image burn or just the BDMV and Cert folders?

Unfortunately (for you wink.gif
), I'm not home so I can't check, but you may want to try changing your BDP's audio setting from "direct" to "source," or whatever the two options are.
That works for me, sometimes.

Did you ever figure out which way is correct?

No, since my BDP has been packed away to make room for a larger AVR. I use my HTPC for everything, now. Sorry.

But I used to just change it from one to the other, whatever it was. It usually worked.

I have an odd problem with trying to use MultiAVCHD to create a PS3 file from Reference Disc 2.

For some reason, the size of the folder is over 100GB instead of the original 45GB. I took a look at the files and somehow MultiAVCHD has made multiple copies of some of the Animation files (there are possibly others, I haven't gone through all of them). I'm assuming I can't just delete the extra files since they're numbered in order.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
