I'm relocating an HVAC return from the floor of my dedicated HT room to a soffit. Would like to get a Nailor grille/diffusor but there is no local supply and the couple out of town HVAC suppliers I emailed never answered back. So what about using a grille from Lowes or HD? I'm looking for something in the 4"x30" to 6x36 range.

Here's a source for linear bar grilles that I saw someone else on here using:

http://www.hvacquick.com/products.php/residential/Ventilation-Accessories/Grilles/Dayus-Bar-Linear-Grilles#table

They are considerably less expensive that the Naillors, but I haven't used them myself so I can't comment on the quality.

I bought my diffusers from hvacquick and I am happy so far. You can custom make almost anything. One bummer is that after doing the option to have a damper installed I discovered that they do not include a lever mechanism to close it. So I will need to fabricate and attach my own.

Keep in mind they are non returnable. And there is a premium for a short turnaround time.

I bought my supply diffusers, returns, and floor grills for the riser from them. Working on Installing the supplies this weekend.
