I'm planning to mount an 80" flat screen onto my wall, and I want to install a wall sconce on each side of the TV. The center of the TV is 50" off the ground and the top edge of the TV is 74" off the ground. Is there a general rule as to how high off the ground and how far from each side of the TV a sconce should be mounted? You guys have any suggestions?
Also, I havent bought any sconces yet, but the electrician is coming over this weekend to run the wiring. I have no idea how a sconce is installed and so I wanted to know how should he set up/lay out the wires so that it is "install ready"? Does he need to put in old work boxes or junction boxes? Can he leave the power cables sticking out of the wall, so that when I buy the sconces, i can just connect the wires?
