I am in the market for a new house, and one that I looked at last weekend is a new built. It comes with the Russound ca4, one input being an iPod dock. I have been out of the scene for over 7 years. (use to have just one theatre room which I since sold, but it was a Yamaha HTR-5790, with Klipsch Reference 7.1 set up to a projector with a 70+ screen.
However, like I said, I sold that and moved and I want to know more about this new Russound ca4 set if I buy this house.
I did do some research on Russound ca4, and understand that sound output will be very different from what I had, which I am fine with, but I don't understand how the video comes into play with this.
There are 4 rooms that have the speakers in the ceiling, and have the coax cable (RG6?) in the walls also.
So lets say, in the main living room, if I wanted to mount the TV over the fireplace, to the coax cable? Does the cable box go into the media closet? But how does the HDMI signal get to the TV, via coax? The TV I will use is a 2 year old LCD Samsung which has the coax in, as well as 4 HDMI in, DVI in and component.
Am I going to need a receiver in the closet also?
I only quickly looked at the media closet, and only saw the Russound ca4, no other equipment was there,I am going to look at the place again tomorrow though.
Sorry for the newbie questions. I couldn't find the answers while searching, but probably because I am not searching with the right key words.
Thank you in advance,
