I'm about to buy a house and want to lay my smurf tube before the drywallers come in to do other work, that way they can close up after I'm done. Every endpoint is going to have cat6, speaker cable, and possibly phone line. Do you think 1/2" tubing will be enough, or will 3/4" work? I'm fully capable of clipping and crimping as needed, so it's really just the room for the cabling I'm concerned about.
To explain the basis for my concern, there's one room that is on a slab foundation and the lower floor. To run smurf tubing, I'd either have to go through every stud in the wall or run all the way up to the ceiling. I'm concerned 3/4" holes in every stud will take away from structural integrity of a loadbearing wall, so I'm considering the smaller tubing.
