Hi all I haven't been on in a while, but needed some new advice on the overall setup of this new "Man Cave". The room is 15'x25' and 14' Tall, all walls are plaster, and it has a hardwood floor. This is a real budget project for me so I am doing all the construction myself, so far about 150 hours. For setup I am thinking:

TV: Panasonic VIERA TC-P65ST50 or maybe the 60" version
Speakers (5.1 with plans for 7.1 at a later date): Either Jamo, Polk monitor, or ARX (expensive for me!)
Receiver: Denon E400 or X2000
Subwoofer: Need a suggestion, my budget is around $200-250

This is a real old room (the house is from the 1920's) and I am keeping it the same construction as it was- like the hardwood floors and all plaster walls. There are only 2 small (top view only) windows that I plan to have either very good curtains or roller doors on, but I don't want to permently block them out since I will sometimes want natural light. I'll try and get pictures up tomorrow.

I would really love to hear everyone thoughts.
Thanks

Here is a picture of the room, I've got the walls ready to paint now thought so it looks a lot better now. The picture is taken from the back of the room looking at where the TV will be.

Since you're not doing any "soundproofing" to the room, I would recommend focusing on acoustical treatments to make your sound as good as it can be. You will need some absorption, probably some diffusion, and certainly some bass traps to get the room under control sonically.
