Nope it's yellow. I think I'm gonna cry, that's $1400 worth of carpet and it'll be at least 2 weeks before it gets fixed.

That sucks man, sorry to hear bout the mix up. Really looking forward to seeing the final product.

They're similar colors, I can see how they'd be easy to mix up You should be able to get a discount for their mistake.

You sure it's not a yellowish black?

started to affix the walls to the sheetrock. velcro tape is added to panels and stapled, then i add the other side of the velcro to the panel and peel off the backing and set it against the wall for placement. carefully pull it off with a putty knife to aid, then staple velcro to the sheetrock. Soft side on the panels so that if i miss a bit it won't scratch/have a hard surface against the wall (just my theory anyway) it fits better then i expected it to! i'm happy with it.

Those panels look great. Really like the angled edges together with them stacked.

Yes, some pictures above of how. Saw what other people did and what material was available near me and I did my own thing to get close. I like the beveled edge and it strengthens the frame, also makes for a very clean corner

Great job and I feel your pain on making panels! Yours look better than mine.

I think the camera must hide most of the flaws, and i hope the dark room does a good job at it too. yours has that rugged look i like, and it gives a little more varied reflection/absorption. i did vary the material from 703/705/705frk in strategic spots around the room.

It's crazy how far I've come from when I started this thread. A friend suggested the name blackout because my only color selection was black. Im at a rate of about 1 panel a day on working days (all my days are working day so I can afford this thing). So in about a 3 weeks I'll be ready to mount my screen!

Cutting out the small panels around edges and electrical are a nightmare. But now I think I have a system.

Made one column. It will be wrapped around with a clothed frame so I don't care about the finish

Ordered my 2nd HSU VTF 15H today. I asked them if there was buy 5 get one free because I've ordered 4 sub/systems from them in the last 5 years. I guess they don't share my sense of humor.

I'm working diligently on the design of the framing that will hide the columns in the previous picture. Gotta be strong enough to hold itself while having an open back. I have most of one done and (pending overtime at my other job) I'll have one done by tomorrow.

Did they not give you any kind of discount? They have me 5% off as a returning customer when I bought a pair of bookshelves a couple years after buying my sub. Like you, I did have to ask

It took a week and one scrapped prototype, but I have a finished Column "design". I know it might not seem like much, but I wanted something sturdy with a removable cover that I could put surrounds in and make with accuracy and repetition, as I need 6. My father in law helped me design it I used Home Depot 2x2 select wood ($8/board), glued and screwed with some nails to help it. Pretty sturdy and pulls in tight ever so slightly to keep it from having room to vibrate.
