Down to 2 seeds, 86% there but 17 hrs to go. Where do you set the download speed? Sorry for the basic questions....

Hi Last, any idea what this error code might be? I simply opened the file and selected burn disc. It started off OK, now I see this: "The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E)." Do I need to use a special burn tool?

Thanks

I don't do many disc burns, since I just put everything on an HTPC.
Try this:
https://discussions.apple.com/thread...rt=15&tstart=0
Use a slower speed than the disc is rated for, and make sure the computer is doing NOTHING else (including seeding) in the background.

Don't mean to sound ungrateful or nit-picking. But isn't it at least a little misleading to use the term 'Fullscreen' for the 16:9 clips. Especially since the other clips have been listed as 'Widescreen'. Keeping the history of the terms, I for one was quite confused as to why would there be clips with cropped video on a demo disc. That is, until I downloaded the files and actually viewed them.

Post back here for seeders if it isn't.

Noted. Next time (don't hold your breath ) they will be 1.77:1 and 2.35:1 so no one will be confused.

Question

In the first few pages of this thread, someone mentioned crackling on a few clips, like Iron Man, and Looper. I'm also experiencing the issue. Was it ever debugged, here, or in any of the other test discs thread? On my receiver, it looks like it drops audio sync constantly, but only on those few clips. Video continues with no issues. It's very strange!

Burned the DVD 9 with ImgBurn, UDF 2.5 etc... Just as the guide said.

Dropped the folders into a USB stick and my Sony BDP-S6500 Blu-Ray handles the content flawlessly.

I'm not sure what else to try. Would it be worth re-authoring with the MultiAVCHD program, like the PS3 people have to do?

There is no problem with the source files. The problem appears to be with the throughput of the playback device. Some player/media combinations work better than others.

Thanks, that is what I assumed. My own recent searching pointed me that direction. I confirmed as much too... ****ty old LG Blu-Ray player from several years ago handled the disc with not problems, while the brand new Sony BDP-S6500 choked on the same clips. Grr...

If I, a relative newbie when it comes to BD authoring, wanted to rebuild this disc with a lower bit rate for those problem clips, any pointers to which tools could help me out? It's been a long time since I wandered around on this topic, and the vast array of tools out there are a little frightening.

Your best bet is to play the m2ts files in the stream folder individually. You do NOT want to get involved in remastering your own disc.
You shouldn't have any problem, but handbrake is probably the best for resampling if needed.

?
I was getting similar audio issues and stuttering video on those clips and perhaps others on a DVD+R DL played on a Philips BDP2985 ( excellent budget refurb, BTW, for ability to play media types/discs/USB drives). Verbatim top rated media burned at only 2x no buffer underruns and clean Verify pass via IMGburn.

I plan to burn these BD9 files to a 25GB SL BD-R (Verbatim HTL). I assume this will clear up the audio/video stuttering issues?

Anything other than drag and drop into IMGburn needed to burn these BD9 folders/files to a 25GB BD-R to make a "standard" BD-R video disc?

Any plans for another updated "Best Of" disc, combining the best of Demo 1 and the Ref2 BD50 discs, plus new clips from films since the last discs were authored?

Perhaps target a 15-25GB size for SL BD-R?

Not a bad idea, but the only discs currently under development (AFAIK) are for 3D.
The idea behind this disc was to have a half hour of good stuff on cheap (at the time) media. If you put together 25GB of material then you may as well go for 50GB, discs for which are available as re-writables.
I think most people who've tried to make a demo have discovered that it's a great deal of trouble, so you're not likely to see anything soon.
In the meantime, you can get some material here:
http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/
Burning this disc onto an actual BD will probably solve your problems. Please let us know.

It doesn't hurt to ask for seeders, but it's been over 2 years, so don't hold your breath.

FYI - I am currently downloading the torrent. Once it is completed, I will seed it via my seedbox for the long-term,. Some of you may not be aware of what that is, but the relevant bit is that I will be able to seed it at a rate of up to 20Gbps. So I should be able to seed is fairly well for anyone else wanting to download it.

I am trying to download the disks you have posted in your sig but it looks like a lot of them don't have anyone seeding them. I was able to get Best of Disk and the 2015 Bass Demo. The BDMV is downloading at a reasonable pace (3 days). The rest are either very very slow or not available at all.

One question, do the disks that are 40+ GiB require a BD DL disk or can they be broken up? Or maybe the other links are simply that broken up versions of the compilation disks.

I am seeding both I was able to download for the time being.

If the size of the discs you're downloading are 40GB+ then these are intended for 50GB discs, or as recommended, use a 50GB RE disc.

There are some discs, like the Best of disc and the Reference discs, that are also intended for smaller media (dvd double layer disc) or you can use 25BB disc if you prefer, the prices of media for DVD DL and 25GB disc are not that much difference these days.

You could split the the discs any way you want if you want to go to the trouble of doing this. All the clips are located in the STREAM folder(s) and you can pick and choose from there. If you want to author a BD disc from these clips then that is a whole new subject.

BTW, thanks for seeding.

$5 each is pretty good, considering you're greatly reducing the number of very expensive "coasters" that, unfortunately, are a fairly common occurrence with write-once discs:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-TDK-BD-RE-...3D310400389248
For the discs are aren't currently being seeded, you may want to post in those individual forums. Many have it available but don't turn it "on" unless there's a need.

I got a 5 pack on Amazon for 23 bucks, coming from Japan so shipping is taking a while haha.

As it is now I have every disc except RAR_Reference_2_BD50 and then 2 of its components Animation and Bass(I guess i really don't need them once the BD50 downloads)

I've used Optical Quantum with excellent success, you can also check if your drive is compatible at their website. Although it's not listed, they are compatible with a Pioneer BDR-209 as well.
