This hobby is really a disease....

I am thinking about going to 16 instead of 12. I could do 8 in the front and 8 in the back. I could also cut my amps from 6 to 4 and actually have more power in doing so. If I did go to 16 I would replace the inukes with 4 Crest Pro Lite 7.5's since they are stable in 2 ohm mode and the inukes are not. I could run 4 HST's off 1 amp. The amps would be expensive to replace but if you are going to do it, do it right. Am I right?

Please do not tell me how crazy and what a dumb idea this is. I already know that. I need someone to tell me this isn't crazy. haha
Crest vs Behringer is a no brainer, i would 100% make the switch.

I can only imagine U571 (I think that's name but I'm not clear headed right now just got my evening meds at the hospital) would be phenomenal! Those depth charges should pack a hell of tactile sensation.

Auburn - As you may already be thinking, it really is essential to get a sample of any carpet before committing to it IMO. I've been through the carpet shopping stage for a while and in many cases the colors are not even close to what's shown on the website. Also I don't know how concerned you are about sheen, but its something I pay close attention to. There are dark carpets which a sheen that will still reflect more light than I'd like. So that's another reason to get a sample. The samples are usually quite small, but enough to get a feel for the color. Then from there if I like the color and feel and sheen, I'll pay for a larger sample, like a 2' x 3' which is often available. Because these carpets can look way different when you look at a bigger piece - especially if there is a pattern to texture to it like the ones you linked to.

I agree. I ordered a sample and hope to have it next week. I have to say the carpet has been the toughest choice of anything for the theater.

I got a couple of new toys today. I updated the LCR amps before the theater was even done so I figured I might as well update the sub amps also. The new amps are Crest Pro-Lite 7.5 DSP's. Anyone need 5 brand new never turned on inuke 6000 DSP's? lol

I have not gotten the crossovers done yet. I did 2 last weekend and had a couple of bad solder points so they didn't work. My good pal J_P_A has been kind enough to build the crossovers and fix my screw up. I owe him big time.

Nice racking job, but the OCD in me wants you to get the anodized blank panels to match your anodized RSH faceplates - lol.

Carpet was the hardest decision by far.

I don't know how, but I always find it remarkably easy to spend other people's money....

Oh, and @kevin g. - I have no idea what you are talking about. None. Nope, none at all. Move along....
