Hi everyone, we are currently building a very small theater at our office. Its just 3 seats. We already are on the finishing phase but ill post some pictures of the process. The room measures 3.23 meters wide by 4,78 meters long. Gerry Lemay from Quest Ai did the whole acoustic design .
Equipment:
3 Triad Inwall Gold LCR for Fronts
4 Triad Inwall Silver Surrounds for Sides and back surrounds
4 Triad Inwall Bronze 6 Subwoofer with 350w Rack amps/dsp
Processor, to be decided yet
Amplifier , to be decided yet
Wolf SDC-8 Projector
3 United Leather Formula Recliners
3 Numinus Star Tiles 4 x 8 Panels

We have still to decide the Processor and Amplifier to use with the triad speakers, suggestions would be highly appreciated.
Ill post some images later , of the plans and construction
Tks
Daniel

Two hdmi (one front and one back), 2 usb, usb DAC, LAN, optical/coax, RS232

No DPLIIz though...

Do you even need eq, with the acoustical wall treatments??

Wow, beautiful room!  Great job so far.  You have some great equipment speq'd out so far (that Oppo is awesome).  I'm guessing you're doing this on your own without the benefit of an AV company?  (from the looks of it, not like you needed one)  AV guys can buy things the general public usually can't (like Integra) so that makes a difference in what to suggest for pre/pro and amps.  If you have a Magnolia Best Buy near you can get Denon CI receivers which are second to few as far as AVR's go.  (short of going to separates).  A Denon AVR-4520ci would drive that room quite well by itself without needing separate amps (though you could add some anyway)  Guess it helps to know what your budget is too...

Hi, i own a the company that is installing, this is our new office, we started doing custom theater around a year ago, we mainly do home a/v, automation , lighting. I had already bought a x4000 with a halo a 31 amp for the fronts, but a client came so no dont have it..
i was thinking on getting the 4520 or the new marantz SR7008 that its more accesible in price and also has XT 32..
I could also get something from ADA but want to get something that any of my clients could get..i think the room is overkill already lol...any sugestions..
i have access to denon, integra, marantz.. and if more high end can do a ada suite 7.1 hd.. or a cinema rapture receiver from them..

tks

Ahhhh... OK, didn't catch that.  Sorry.  I'm thinking the theory behind a demo room is to show off what you can do.  You want to put your best foot forward while at the same time not putting together a system none of your customers can afford.  That said, I'm not too familiar with your speakers..  I did a system with some Sunfire CRS3's driven by a Denon 4310.  It sounded great, but not as good as I would have wanted.  Didn't know why cause the CRS3's are amazing and the Denon 4310 is amazing.  they just didn't mesh unless you were at or above reference level.  We ended up swapping out the speakers for different ones.  If we had tacked on a high current amp that probably would also have fixed the problem also.

Daniel, did you get the opportunity to have any discussions with Gerry regarding the treatments? I'm curious as to the circled areas below.
(some what unique as to what is normally seen)

Are they intended to reflect the indirect signal from the far speaker away from the LP? Any comments or insight on this would be great.

That's gonna be a fantastic sounding room.

I had used an x4000 to power my Bronze LCR's and it was good, but not great. I added a Sherbourn PA7350 to the mix and it was night and day. The Triad's seem to need some power behind them. Same story with some Gold Satellites I have in another room. Ok with a receiver, really nice with an amp. Overall I'm very happy with the x4k-Sherbourn combo for my theater.

Is it solipsistic in here, or is it just me?

Not a rule of thumb or anything, but I've noticed that inefficient speakers tend to need high current amps behind them to flesh them out.  I sell Induction Dynamics and they love gobs of power behind them (and handle it well).  They sound great on receiver power but they really need a dedicated amp to set them apart.  Sunfire speakers NEED tons of power also.  Both these are well under 90db/1w/1m.  I setup a demo once for a customer with some Phase Tech PC9.5 towers bi-amped off of a Denon 3313.  Seriously "next level" performance.  They imaged like crazy, mid bass was tight and low bass was incredible.  Sounded like speakers 10x their cost.. but their sensitivity is 91db/1w/1m.

I already got an amplifier , sunfire TGA-7401, sunfire guys set me up so that problem is solved . Now I'm just need to decide the processor /receiver . Thinking on either Denon 4520 witch comes with a free Denon bluray , or marantz 8801 or integra dhc 80.3 what do you guys think would be the best option ?

That's a nice amp!  Lack of current definitely won't be an issue.  I've used that Integra before and I've used Denon like crazy.. you won't go wrong with either of those.  Denon with a free Blu-ray is a great deal.  Denon blu-rays are fabulous.  They scale dvds like nobodies business.  My daughter rented a video from redbox the other day.  I remember watching it amazed at the detail and wondering why she rented a Blu-ray.  Turns out we were watching a DVD.  I love my Denon Blu-ray player!
