Building a diy frame for a final size of about 140 to 145 diagonal in 2.4 0 aspect ratio. At least that's what I think thus far.

Well.. i havent had a chance to take pics yet but I have the screen up and set up the projector on cardboard boxes. I watched oblivion night before last and it looked FANTASTIC. I have a Sony Hw50es which has reality creation and the oppo 103d with darbee and the results are killer.. the room is a ramshackle at this point with makeshift blankets and linacoustic hung up for temporary light control. But with the lights out I was transported into the movie and was thoroughly entertained for the duration. I LOVE having the ability to enjoy this level of home movie experience! The sound and huge image really make it easy to get immersed in the movie..

the projector mount should be here soon. I will have to make a plate to go between the projector and the mount to allow me to mount my Panmorph UH480. The one thast AVS sells is $$$ so I will try to make one myself out of some 3/8 inch aluminum. Thanks mike at AVS for helping with selecting the best route for me on this..

Your build looks great. I am actually stealing some of your ideas for my ongoing build.

How did you wire up the color changing LED strip lights? I have about 48 linear feet that I would like to control with one remote, but I can't seem to find an easy explanation on how to wire up multiple strips on one controller (I will need 3 x 5 meter strips).

Well I started with this kit.

Then for every additional 16 foot length I purchased one of each of the following.

http://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Power-Supply-LCD-Monitor/dp/B003TUMDWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400556375&sr=8-1&keywords=12v+6a+Adapter+Power+Supply+for+LCD+Monitor+with+Power+Cord

http://www.amazon.com/TSSS-Repeater-Signal-Amplifier-warranty/dp/B00A46UAQO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400556474&sr=8-1&keywords=TSSS+Data+Repeater+RGB+Signal+Amplifier+For+SMD+3528+5050+LED+Strip+Light%2C+DC+12V+12A%2C+2+years+warranty

as far as wiring them up you will need to make sure you match up the wires as you link them all up. I stripped the wire ends and tied them into the phoenix connectors on the repeaters. then use one of the power adapters to power each repeater and your good to go.

^^

Yes. ln fact I did. 6 mil poly.

Here are graphs to show what all this treatment thus far has got me..I have been spending time in the REW forum.. but here is what I have to show for all this work so far.

Frequency Response graphs didnt look so good at first, I thought. but Audyssey and minidsp sure did get things tidied up.
I did lots of music listening yesterday. I was really enjoying what it sounds like thus far. tonight I will be watching Tron Legacy.. Hoping to give these subs a workout!!

At his point I have only been focusing on the bass frequencies. AT some point I'll start looking at some of the other things like first reflections and what not.. but so far I am pretty happy with the progress..

And here are photos of the 150" diagonal 2.4 hanging in the room.. So far I am thinking 145 diag will be the final framed size.

And here is the projector temporarily mounted to make sure my DIY mounting plate worked along with the A lens. Saved myself about $400 bucks vs buying the panamorph model. Just some 3/8ths" aluminum plate ( Thx mike at AVS for the tips!) Will have to pull it all down to finish painting it black at some point.. but will keep pluggin away on it all.

Great theater so far. I was waiting for someone to use some of Moggie's ideas to build a simple flat CIH masking system. Your masking system looks great so far. Did you mount the screen directly to the 2x4 or did you build a frame? What screen material are you using? Thanks
