I used SW 6258 Tricorn Black Paint. We used it for the ceiling. The rest covered with different fabrics. Just finishing the theater so I am attaching a sample picture here. I thought it turned out to be really good. This paint has an LRV rating of 2. Hope this helps.

This thread should do the trick. Rosco Supersaturated velour black was my pick and I couldn't be happier.

Without question the Rosco Supersaturated is the blackest paint, but it requires a bit of thinning to make it more viscous and usable. Doubtful you'll notice much of a difference between the Rosco and the Mouse Ears in a darkened room, though.

I won't claim it's better than what others have recommended, but I am very happy with the Valspar "Cracked Pepper" color. It seems very black, and covers well.

If you happen to prefer shopping at Lowe's for some reason, it's something to consider.

How much did you thin it out? I have seen recommendations all over the place. I am picking up the paint tomorrow and want to get the ceiling painted asap!

Thanks!
