Sound Damp 2 - a reasonable alternative to Green Glue?

The Sound Damp 2 material is rolled on to drywall with a simple paint roller. It's applied between sheets of gypsum the similar to how Green Glue is between 2 sheets of rock.

I wonder if this material works as well to dampen sounds (especially lower frequency sounds) as GG. Also is it as cost effective as GG?
