Carpet color choices for Black/Gray room? Pictures wanted

I am at the point in my build I need to pick carpet and my head is spinning. My walls are black and gray. Front wall and front portion of the ceiling are black. All other walls and the rest of the ceiling is a dark gray. I am trying to decide if I should go with a black or gray carpet? But not sure if that will be too dark or maybe go with something with some color maybe a dark red? I am having trouble picturing the room with a red color. I would like to see if any of you guys have a Black/Gray room can post pictures of your finished rooms with the carpet. Here is the current state of my room on how it looks.

Thanks
Dave

I helped Vic build his Curve Frenzy all black and gray theater. He said he had a surprise for the carpet and long after I left town he posted a picture of his selection, I think he hit it out of the park.

Thanks for the picture. That does look great! I am worried I cannot pull that off in my room though since it is much wider and looks like I have alot more carpet area. I am unsure if it will be too much red. I tried one of those virtual carpet programs where you upload a picture of the room. It gave me a general idea. I just do not know if I have the balls to pull the trigger on a color like that! My fear would be regretting it.

Just a update for you guys. I decided on a dark gray commercial grade carpet. I didn't have the balls to do a red which I really thought hard about but just could not pull the trigger. Decided on white trim to break up the black and gray walls which I think came out pretty good. I am getting a slight reflection off of the carpet and alot on the ceiling even though it is flat black. I need to figure out what I am going to do about battling the ceiling reflection. I will most likely make some sort of decorative panel on the ceiling wrapped in black velvet.

Black ceiling, darker gray fabric walls.... Deep violet (purple) carpet. Wanted to keep all aspects dark.

Wow! That room is baller. How much did it cost you to finish out? I just bought my first house and am trying to do it within a budget realizing that this is just the beginning I hope to build a house in a few years. I'd love something like this!

I believe that is Nyals Showroom/demo room for his business. I am not expert but if I had to guess that room costs in the 6 figures....

True the overall room is 6 figures but only because of all the expensive equipment. The actual room is finished quite simply - paint on the walls, a star ceiling and a nice carpet. No columns or fancy woodwork.

Truly Impressive! I'm not sure if I'm willing to drop 6 figures, but I'd be willing to definitely drop some coin. Right now I'm just trying to learn the basics. The look of that room is AWESOME!

Where did you get the ceiling stars?

Also, do you remember where you got the wall art and acoustic paneling?

Sorry, not trying to derail this thread. I'll stop asking questions about it after this

Some good articles about home theater layout and such on my blog here: http://www.acousticfrontiers.com/cat.../home-theater/

Ceiling panels are from Numinus which were then modified for the low profile LEDs. The ceiling panel was also modified for better acoustical performance as stock it is only 1" fiberglass.

Acoustic panels on the wall are from RPG (BAD, Modex Plate) and Vicoustic (MultiFuser Wood).

If you only remember one thing, remember that design (layout, low frequency optimization, correct AV equipment functional specification, acoustic treatment design is KEY to end performance). Also, your room will only sound good if it has a red carpet. Black, grey just doesn't sound good...

Red is gorgeous but we've had a few red wine spills and they blend in with our 'wine' colored carpeting!!

The deep violet carpeting has great sonic properties as well!!
