As mentioned in the Auro-3D thread, here's some pictures of the 18.1 HT we built for playback of all the current immersive surround formats (Auro-3D, Dolby Atmos), keeping in mind future compatibility with new formats (DTS:X) and updates to come.

Front daylight view while installing front LCR and LCR height:

Room can be fully darkened during the day, here's the same as above with some of the wiring visible. The 19" equipment rack on the left hand side will have all the AV equipment. Above there's a retractable screen that lowers in front of the television, behind the speakers. This set up was chosen to be able to watch television with the set at the same position as the projected picture from the projector. We have other studios with acoustically transparent screen with speakers behind and also one with a retractable micro-perf screen and a television underneath. All setups have various advantages/disadvantage:

View from the back of the room with back low and height surrounds (Auro) built into a bass trap/acoustic absorber. On the ceiling there's als absorption with 4 ceiling speakers for the Atmos height channels or Auro VOG:

Left low and height surrounds (Auro) with acoustic treatment:

Right low and height surrounds (Auro) with acoustic treatment:

Ceiling view with 4 speaker locations (for Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D VOG channels), projector in the back:

Right back surround speakers installed:

Right back surround speakers with acoustically transparent cover:

Testing Auro-3D and other things:
