GOM Anchorage as column grills???

Does anyone know if GOM Anchorage can be used as column speaker grills? I'm using it around my screen wall (onyx black) but it's quite thick and I think I can hear a tad high end difference with the ear test, or at least I think I can. I haven't been able to find any measurements on it.

I'm thinking of just going with speaker grill material but the Onyx Black in the this fabric really looks good.

NO! You loose 2-3 db's on HF. Don't use Anchorage for speaker grills!

Best alternative to Anchorage is GOM sensa..........looks almost the same as Anchorage, but is forgiving on HF. Here is picture of Anchorage on screen wall which no speaker is directly behind and ceiling fabric is Sensa in Onyx where 4 Atmos ceiling speqkers are housed/hidden.

On the GOM website they rate their acoustic fabrics, FR701 a long time favorite is measured at .95 NRC when hung in front of 1.0 NRC Anchorage is measured at .85

FR 701 has the burlap look which I did not care for.........Sensa on the other hand has similar finish look like Anchorage.........but is much more audio transparant.

Ha.. I can't believe my ears were right. I am using it in front of my subs in front stage but that's no issue. I may just go with speaker grill material as the standard GOM is pricey. The Anchorage was $7 a yard on Ebay. It would be better to have thin grill material anyways so the folds are flatter as these are removable panels that will fit in a recess in the columns.

Thanks guys!

I'll 2nd the use of Sensa. I'm using in front of some speakers without any issues. Check on eBay as well since that's where I got mine.

For those members who read this thread in future........here is photo comparing GOF Sensa, FR 701, and Anchorage all in Onyx or black.

Two samples of Sensa and Anchorage side by side with overlap only on edge are on top.

Bottom is FR 701....

Sensa is as close to Anchorage as one can get but still be acoustically transparent.

I see Sensa Crepe black on Ebay... I wonder if that's as dark as the Onyx.

I can look in my mile high pile of invoices and find Sensa lot number I purchased. Matched perfectly with Anchorage in color Onyx. Don't know if Sensa was called Onyx though.

Yes..........color of Sensa I purchased through Fabricmate was black, not Onyx.

I'd say they are the same

The company that was selling these fabrics on ebay is no longer is selling them on ebay
and is only selling them directly.
I would be happy to provide the contact details for the company if you message me.

I was getting mine from cliff112. I just checked and he still has a pretty good selection. If you have a source I'm sure you can post it here in case anyone else may be looking in the future.

I ended up getting a black speaker grill fabric to wrap the column grills. The GOM was a little thick which make wrapping the grills kind of a pain.
