Equipment ventilation

Currently all my a/v equipment is kept in a closet in my theater room. It can get a bit warm in there. The closet shares a wall with the hvac equipment room, so I can ventilate in there. My question is: does anyone know how I can automate a fan system to turn on or off when my receiver is in use? I also use a Harmony Ultimate remote, so it could possibly be controlled with that.

In my last house, I wired a small exhaust fan with a regular power cord, then connected it to the switched power socket on my receiver. When the receiver went on, so did the fan.
