HVAC and dead vents?

Hi,

I am trying to work out, if and how to place (hide) a HVAC in my planned room. More importantly, how do you hook up your dead vent or muffler to the HVAC unit?

There is not much room for a soffit wall, but I can easily hide some ducts/pipes along the ceiling between to exposed roof joist (hanging 200mm down) and the side walls. But the question is whether there is a small enough HVAC unit that I can hide and connect with a dead vent or something similar?

This seems a hard one to figure out. I can't really find out the complete picture.
