IndyGreg,

Hopefully you don't mind me bringing up your thread! Your theater is awesome.

I have a couple of questions though. I didn't see in your thread the actual dimensions of your risers. I am about to build a riser for my room, and plan to do three rows, with the third row being a bar like you have. I know most say 6-6.5' feet for a riser with recliners, but what did you do for the riser with the bar and office chairs? My room will fit between 4' and 5' ft for the that third row. To accomplish 5 feet I have to move front row 6" toward the screen, and cut my second row riser to 6'.

I want the bar top to be 12" to 15", but not likely any wider than that. It will be about 10' long!

Also, what are the measurements for your office chairs? I have a 2ftx2ft office chair that I have been doing all my testing on. That is most likely what I will end up using.

Thanks!

Sorry i just saw this. my third row riser was only about 5' deep and my countertop was 16" deep. i wouldn't want the counter any shallower and wish i had a little more depth. with a solid wall under it you find that your feet need a place to go. maybe should have left a kick under the wall for your toes to stick through. my chairs are just regular staples office chairs around 2x2.

great news, I think you have the gold benchmark for the rear elevated sit at bar with executive chairs, several times I tried to tell people about it but came up blank for a picture.

putting a jvc rs600 in to replace this antique 777. looking forward to the improvement in pq. it would appear something is wrong with my 777 as i am only seeing about 580 lumens.

Hey there Greg. I just stopped in to see what's what. That new JVC should be quite the performer and a serious upgrade over your 777. You still have one of the top tier theaters here on AVS for sure. Belated Happy New Years to you and yours.

Hey there Mr Rose! good to hear from you. i keep looking for the rtrose2.0 theater. i am doing a .1 upgrade over here. in biblical speak, the new jvc begat a new bluray which is about to beget (is that a word) some other things. turns out 9 years is a long time and almost everything i have is out of date. my bluray wouldnt even play many modern discs (we have gotten lazy and watched a lot of appletv rentals). now i see there is atmos and 4K and UHD and HDR and rec2020 and..... crap there is a lot to learn about.

the new PJ is installed and wow. Ken Whitcomb was kind enough to stop by today and look at it with me. i am really facing some choices that might involve cutting walls and other things. kind of nice having one the the country's most respected calibrators right here in indy.

Haha....yeah you (as well as others) might just have to wait a while for RTROSE v2.0 with one kid at Purdue and one a year away from going to Purdue (two in college for just one year though) the RTROSE discretionary income will be coming from a slightly smaller pool for a while. On your theater changes should you need a strong back and a weak mind to help with anything I'm in Indy frequently with work and I would be more than happy to lend a helping hand. Just as long as you don't have a biometric lock on your theater.
