If you go like I did and go as big as you can... You can test it out for yourself and see how big of a screen you are happy with and then mask the screen if you want it smaller.

Some really nice rooms here!

One Old Fart request to consider: it would really help if you could embed full size photos rather than using the postage stamp size "attachments."

I know you can click on them, but the easier you make on on people (especially us old dogs), the more views and feedback you're likely to get.

Thanks!

I like that a lot. Well done. Do you have any construction photos of the screen wall or basement? I assume your subs are behind the screen wall as well? How do they perform behind the solid surfaces?

Thanks...I have to give the credit to my Dad. I came up with the design and he figured out how to build it all. In some of the pics below you can see how my subs are oriented back there. We just threw up some plywood as a finishing piece so I wouldn't have to dress up the subs, add panel molding to them etc. They perform fine. They are firing back towards the wall, about 8 inches off the wall. I read somewhere that the F20 should be around 18in off or so, however mine sound pretty good so far and shake the whole basement (approx. 1000sqft). Still have some calibrating to do. The Velvet border is permanent, as we wrapped 4 separate pieces of MDF and then nailed in place. The screen is wrapped around a wood frame as you can see in the pic (that is showing the back side of the screen obviously). The screen sits right in place.

I know a lot of people use a French cleat system to hang their screen, however I went a different route. As you can see in some of the pictures, we used small pieces of wood in each corner as stoppers so the screen would sit at a specific depth. Then used magnets to keep everything level and as an extra measure of security, even tho it is a very tight fit. Just makes me feel better when the magnets clip and I hear everything go together.

But how about posting pics of your screen walls...thanks. No pics of projected images please.
I looked at countless of these wonderful front wall builds... very nice. Question: Why is it not common to build a false wall simply using curtains? I have an AT screen, so the speakers will be behind the screen itself... I was planning on dropping 2 black curtains on the sides of the screen, and similar treatment on the bottom. The top would have a valance of sorts running horizontally...

How is the experience with the Kinect being so high?? Do you have it pointed down quite a bit for floor mapping?? Do you have any issues wit it up there?
