Looking great RT! It must be a lot of fun to finally have the theater functional.

I didn't know "Freckles" was in Real Steel. I'll have to check that one out.

Thanks guys. Things are really coming together now and I'm really pumped for sure. No I am not going to make you all wait to see what seats I purchased. They are scheduled to be delivered tomorrow and are called "Santa Monica" series. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. I purchased them from Family Leisure in Indy. They handle Berks, Silver Screen, Bradington Young and Aspen brands. Mrs. RTROSE seems to think they are Berks. We will see. I did finish up the minor electrical stuff I needed to do so I was able to put this in its rightful place.

the top picture is ultra deceiving. Makes the fridge look HUGE! Like a full Fridge that is extra wide. Then you see the second one and it is like, oh...

looking good regardless

I've got seats!

Very exciting times here at the RTROSE household. Someone asked who made the seats. I found out today that the "Santa Monica" line is a "House Brand" of the Family Leisure stores. The delivery guys actually showed up pretty close (within 15 min) to when they said they would and took care of setting everything up and testing it out. I am very pleased with the seats. They look good and are very comfortable. The front row is mechanical recliners and the back row is power recline. Not sure why that is, but it's all good.

As for a bullet list? Hmmmm........Well I think I should build a riser. Um, yeah that is number one. Not knowing exactly what seating direction I was going to go I did not want to commit to a riser then not need it. That will be a priority. Getting my center channel and sub in and set up is close to the top and then start working on acoustical treatments.

I did get a call from my plumber and he is going to come by on Saturday so hopefully after Saturday I will have an operable sink and faucet. So while I am very close there are still many things to do. Very excited.

Regards,

RTROSE

RT those look very nice. Let me ask what is the width of the back row? What about the width of the room? I am still trying to decide on seats but I face a very narrow back row area.

Thanks guys, it is appreciated. It is fun to share with people who get excited about things that most people just don't understand. It truly has been a long journey to get to this point.

Steve I'll throw some tape down tonight and get some measurements for you on the back row.

The room width is 13' 5" and is 20, long. I just measured my back row and it is right at 11'. It is curved slightly which usually makes it slightly wider than a straight row (I think), if I had not gotten the love seat and went with four standard chairs it would have been even wider.

Hope that helps you out.

Very nice RT! I like those seats. Did you pay for power on the first row and just didn't get it or do they not offer it in that configuration? Seems odd, but as long as you are happy.

What is the 1st movie in the new seats?

Nice seats, RT!! Wow!

I have to say that I'm extremely relieved to hear you say that you're planning a riser now. I have had this nagging feeling about my space and have been beating myself up about it... I'm glad to see someone else waiting to see what the seating situation looks like first.

Oh and I thought you'd laugh at me on this one... Know how you watched a movie with no sound? I just watched an episode of the x files streamed from my iPad with the sound routed through my system since I'm projector-less... LOL!

I actually tried to get manual recline all the way around, but the four seats came with power, the three were manual. So I got what I ordered. I don't really have a preference either way, but Mrs. RTROSE really likes the power recline and she has called the love seat as hers so we are both happy. Gotta love that!

As for trying to get friends and family to "get it" I have just come to the conclusion to each his own I guess and while many of my friends and family might think I'm nuts to spend the cash the way I do, that is fine with me. That is why I come here to get my "love". The really good thing now that it has all come together, Mrs RTROSE is much more "into it" than I ever thought she would be.

As for the 1st movie, well I still don't know yet. We have actually been watching movies since I got my speakers, but without my sub, and the center channel I am still waiting patiently for my actual "Premier", so who knows.

RTROSE

I must have "watched" the first 15 minutes of The Dark Knight about 20 times, while testing out audio tweaks (toe in, elevation, new sub, EQ on sub, MCACC, crossover, etc.), before I had my projector and screen.

Then I went to a local meet, and watched the same scene - and I was like "ohhhh, so that's why their voices sound muffled"! (I had never watched it, since I was saving it for my first movie)

Too funny. While watching a movie one night without sound one of my boys came down without me knowing, as the action and dialog played out on the screen I would say the lines. My son I think was impressed that I could pretty much match verbatim the lines that were being "spoken". He asked how many times I had watched the film, I replied honestly "who knows" 20-30 at least. I can remember lines from movies, but not important stuff like family members birthdays. DOH!

As soon as my center and sub get here (and my wall mounts for my speakers) I can get to tweaking the audio side of things.

Good times.

RTROSE

Thanks again guys, I am feeling the "Love" for sure.

Well now I am feverishly in the "planning/construction" mode again as now I will be building a riser for sure. Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, and advise for that would be greatly appreciated. I know it is basically framing up a horizontal wall, but when looking at sealing it up covering it and carpet and such anything that will make it work better, easier to cover with carpet and such I'm all ears. I have to admit I sorta dropped the ball on the riser thing planning wise so I'm all ears.

I don't know that there is a movie that I know ALL the lines Tony, but I do have some scenes that I can recall, Airplane is a good one for that, as well as MIB, Transformers, Matrix, and a few others that I have seen a bazillion times I can do that with. Fun stuff though as the kids usually give me the and tell me I watch too much TV/movies. How's that for role reversal?

RTROSE
