We will see. summer is my busy time and I dont work the winter months.

Right now I'm starting in on my honey do list. Only got about 6-8 weeks left before I go back to work and the whip has cracked

Looks awesome!! I love the wall fabric. We were going to do something like that originally. I remember going back and forth quite a bit on that decision.

You're in the home stretch, you must be getting excited!

I must confess when I first contacted Ruben for info on a SmX screen I wasn't planing on getting that large of a screen but he changed my mind with the thought of having a screen like his. Needless to say I think I made the right choice I can't wait to get it up and running and admire all my hard work

Very nice work. I'm not going to be able to do a dedicated room at our current house (unless I give up my workshop, which I don't think I'll ever do) so these threads make me sorta melancholy. None-the-less I can't get enough of them; subscribed...

Thanks Guys

I hope to have the projector back up on Monday so I hope to have some shots of the screen in action. The weather has been really wacky here so I have put off trying to stain and finish the rest of the trim until it warms up a bit.

Hello all

Construction has halted for the last 2 weeks as I finally got the projector & lens hung here are a few photo's

I cant seem to capture a good pic of the screen & lens & projector in action but here are a few till I can figure it out. I also think I need to get myself a new bulb as my picture seems a bit dim as I have over a 1000 hrs on this bulb already

These were taken from the front row at about 11' from the screen

Beautiful. Classy. Nicest theater in Omaha. (Granted that isn't saying much since they demolished the Indian Hills.)

Can't wait to see it someday.

Hey Scott,
Just got thru skimming over your build- did you, by chance, keep track of your hours? I've often been asked "how much" to do a theater (less gear), and once they hear the price they usually have that shocked look on their face. I know how fast the hours can add up, but I'm sure you work pretty cheap for yourself.

Anyway, you did it right, absolutly gorgeous. See'in how I haven't bought my AL yet, what are you using? Ebay furniture lady, hmmn...

I have been at it for over a year in my spare time and have not kept track of my time. Plus I have been working on my whole basement but have only posted photo's of the HT.

GG386 Not sure what AL is short for?

The Ebay gal still has goodies every month or so if you can pick the chairs up you can get a swinging deal. ebay item #130199898689

Generally most HT's involve a bathroom, AND (while your at it) let's put a bar in and maybe a second kitchen, blah, blah, blah. I do know the hours, cause the time cards show me where they worked at. I'm at about 250 hours with maybe 80 left on a 1800 sq.ft.+ buildout. My point is, it PAYS to do the work yourself. Not to many as crafty as yourself, thats where I come in

AL= anamorphic lens. The reason i ask, is that I haven't bought one yet and would like to hear your take on it. BTW, thanks for the item link

AL I bought a CAVX lens from Mark I do like it and it works great but it does degrade the picture a bit. at this point I have spent way more money then I would have liked on my Ht but it has been worth every penny I do plan on upgrading maybe this summer to a Isco III when the Bleeding of money stops.

Scott, your theater is very beautiful!

Can I ask a favor? Can you please measure the distance from riser floor to the ceiling(not soffit)?

Thanks.

Looks great, thanks for all of the help I've gained.

Question - How much space do you have behind your screen?

Thanks!

Scott,

Been a while since my last visit. The screen is up and its looking great - most impressive

What is left or next on the list - (all of which will be tougher to do now that you can actually enjoy the HT room ) working on finishing up by the door I can see some unfinished business but is there anything else?

Great space Scott - it looks terrific you should be proud of a job well done.

Cheers
Calvin

Thanks Josh there is exactly 24" from back wall to screen which is just enough room for those big PSB's towers to sit about 6" from the screen

Construction on the whole project has halted for the last 13 days because of a nasty flu bug going through the house. I have not done much of anything other then laying around trying to get well. I can't remember the last time I was this sick

I really only have the trim work and staining to do and the tray for the rope light left in the HT. I have been working on the rest of the basement trying to get the component computer rooms drywall finished up. I will start posting a few pics of that soon

I think my screen is almost too big for me to sit in the front row I will defiantly be upgrading my projector next fall to a RS1 I myself can see the screen door in the front row

I love them they are really comfy but they are pretty large Not sure how much room you have. I have no complaints there easy to put together and take apart I would not think twice about buying another setup
